I've been overweight pretty much my whole life. It's been much worse the last few years as I work the night shift. 3 yrs ago, my Gyno suggested Lapband and I was never so offended. A year later, I looked into it but insurance didnt cover it. Well, I just started a new job and I found out that it's covered on my new plan. From start to finish, it was a 5 week process. It all happened so fast. I have a lot of support from family and friends, but they dont really understand what its like to be so desperate that you'll undergo surgery. I'm the only one with real weight issues in my family. My surgery was Dec 3, 2009 and it went well. The hospital stay was hell. Thank God it was just overnight. Befor surgery, I was on clear liquids for 2 days. That continued for 5 days after surgery. Soft foods for 3 days and here I am. ! am down 15 lbs. I didnt lose this week and I'm a little discouraged. I really dont feel restriction at all. I'm looking foward to my apt Jan 5.
