I am a nurse and I would never try this. Mine will be done in the doctors office under fluoroscopy. -
Marilyn, Paul Enoch at Cary Surgical did it.. I get my next fill on Thurs. My wt loss has stopped also. You have lsot more than me .. I am back up a little and now stuck at anywhere between 11-12. I don't get it. I am not eating much at all.. I am going to tell him to tighten it up, I don't want to keep this up it is discouraging.l Let me know how you do w/ your fill.. I am a little scared of getting choked..

How are your doing. I am doing ok.. glad I did it. I have lost 13 lbs so far, that may be slow , don't know but I am feeling good about it. I am very tired/ I think b/c I have had a terrible virus.. Go next week to get my first fill.

Well it has been a little over 2 weeks.. glad I did it. No regrets at all. Today I have been hungry but all in all it has not been difficult. I have lost 13 lbs so far. I can really feel a difference, not to mention I am starting to look different. I am off all of my meds which is great! Eating applesauce, oatmeal and grits. My fav has to be the grits. Can honestly say I am starting to dislike sweets (where did that come from?) I thought I loved sweets. I can tell this is going to give me a new lease on life. Wish I had done it sooner. :drool:

Doing good. I have lost 13 lbs so far.. I don't know if that is good or not but it sure feels good to me. My grandaughter has been in the hospital since the 23rd so that has been a downer but they are hoping she can go home by Weds... I have caught the virus that put her in the hospital so I don't feel the greatest but I am getting there and that is exciting. I keep thinking about that I am on my way down never to go back up and I love that. Go next Thurs to see about if I need my first fill. Doc said it would depend on how much I was eating, how hungry and how much wt loss so we will see. How does that wt loss sound to you?

Anybody got any good suggestions for a good protein drink. I have tried Aikens, Trader Joe, Special K... I hate them.. anything out there that taste like carnation instant breakfast.. I think most taste sick..

Hey, do you have suggestions for a good protein drink we can get in this area.. hate kellogs special k, trader joe and adkins, and sure hate those shots. Love carnation instant is there anything similar? How are you doing so far? Who did your band. Dr. Enoch did mine at Western Wake.

Hey,, I had that stupid gas in the top of my shoulder for 1.5 weeks.. finally the second week it is gone. -
Where is the port. I can't find it. . Is it around the umbilicus area? There sure isn't one on the side. Had surgery yesteday so I am still to sore to poke around the belly button.

Thanks, I saw some others w/ the same issues and just decided as you said to listen to my body and move on... I really don't feel my stomach can tolerate being that empty anymore.. I feel the acid is irritating it. I just took a couple of bites of pudding we'll see. Thanks for the advice. -
Well I did it. I am now banded. A brand new chance to feel and look better. A better brand new me. Arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am for a 9:30 surgery. I was very sad b/c my grandaughter had to go to Duke for a check up b/c of a cough.. there was a chance she would have to be admitted. I started crying before I went in and cried until I was in the OR. Fortunately she did not have to stay . I stayed in pacu for 3 hrs which is a long time. Recieved 200 mcs of fentenyl for pain and everything under the son for nausea. Cramps were bad. Very sore tonight. Can void as usual, have had to cath self 2 times so far. Hopefully tommorow my bladder will start funcitoning again. Can't seem to get enough to drink. Very dry.

I strained some egg drop soup and had it w/ my clears I think it was ok but not sure, guess just panicking.. my surgery is tommorow. Also is it ok to have red clear liquids? Bev

I just added you as a friend hope you don't mind.. my decision to ask you was based on your blog.. how funny. I knew about the aspiration thing but not sure what the docs rational for the day of liquids pre op was for... and no neurotic me strained the egg out. Believe it or not I am a nurse but I have went brain dead tonight.. I saw your progress (wonderful).. :mad: yea a little scared.. even nuts thinking of writing a letter to the fam but talked myself out of it. I guess b/c it is elective surgery I am feeling guilty for that and for that I couldn't manage to do it on my own. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Bev -

Thanks Dan.. encouraging words.. Yea it was red Jello and a red ice pop.. not much to choose from and just honestly forgot. Glad you did so well. Have you lost any weight yet?
