Ya know, I think this is going to be hard to figure out. My surgeon today, after my first fill, told me i could have WEEKLY fills and that initially I should know pretty fast if I had restriction or not???? Hmmmm, I hope so! LOL

I just got my first fill today! I was kinda nervous but I have to say it was fast, easy and not a problem at all. The only thing that surprised me was when my surgeon told me that I could get a fill every WEEK til I felt the restriction that worked for me. I went into the office, the surgeon talked to me for a bit, I got comfy on the table with my arms behind my head, he felt for the port, found it and marked it with a pen. He then injected a tiny amount of numbing stuff and injected 4cc's into my port. He put a small band aid on and I sat up. He had me sip Water to make sure it would go down and voila! done! I am sure you'll do fine and after the first fill, you'll know what to expect and wont be nervous any more! Good luck!

Sorry you're not feeling well. I was banded on 2/9 also. I have had gas since.....I think I have passed most of it but not all. I did put 2 gas-x strips under my tongue last night and it helped alot! Hope it improves soon

I am scheduled for Feb 9th...in Keene NH. Because of my age I guess < 54> the surgeon said 60lbs was a realistic weight loss goal.......seems low but I guess If i can keep off 60 lbs and improve my health.....its worth it~ I am lucky I have anthem for insurance and have been told that they are the best and easiest insurance company to work with. My big worry is taking 30 min to eat and chewing the food enough. Is any one else worried about that?

I hope and believe I will be banded in January, IF I can convince myself to go through with it. My insurance has approved me and I have done all appointments except the one with the Surgeon which will be on 12/28. I am 54, diabetic < type II > hypertension, and spinal stenosis. I think I will end up going through with it but only because of my health issues. If I didnt have the health issues, I think I would back out! I would love to keep in touch with all the January bansters!
