Lets bring back the Salem witch trials back...ok Patty? You remember,,if she did`nt drown she was a witch..if she did, oh well, there was still doubt. You`d love to live in Puritan Massachusetts. We could but a lot of unemployed carpenters to work building (stocks) to put folks in that failed "your" religious test of Christian purity. I love Joe Leiberman, wears that dumb ass skull cap to prove his superiority and keeps kosher and observes the Jewish Sabbath from fri. pm till Sat. pm. Still an asshole regardless!

Calling All January 13, 2010 Bandsters!
phil1336 replied to Just-Ice's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Am I the only one on this blog thats going crazy from the boredom and hunger of this 14 day post-op full liquid diet? Began the liquid (Fast) on Jan 6 and got Banded on Jan 12.Damn, sugar free jello, pudding, yogurt, soups, and high protein shakes are driving me mad! Wanna add in gas and constant diarrhea from consuming only liquids for 2 weeks already and one more still to go before we can progress to mush foods. I know they call in Bandster Hell for a good reason. Between the one week liquid pre-op and 4 weeks post-op regiment is over, I`m sooo jonesing for some real solid food already! -
Any January 11th bandsters out there????
phil1336 replied to claricey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I got banded on Jan 12 by Dr Brett Cohen at Memorial Regional Hospital, Hollywood FL. Checked in at 7:00 am and was discharged at 1:30 pm. Home walking my Golden Retrievers soon after. Got some liquid pain medicine, took a little. No staples here....all disappearing stitches. Lots of bloat, gas, no shoulder pain though. Clear liquids only for 3 days and then full liquids, sugar free jello, pudding, yougurt, high protein shakes, and creame soup for next 10 days. Damn, even chicken salad or tuna salad would taste great! A few weeks down the road. I agree with Dan, the surgery itself is not the issue. The pre and post liquid diet is the bear. Can`t wait till Feb 11 and real food! -

AMERICA NOT CHRISTIAN....Got it? The United States is (not) founded on Judeo-Christian principles as PattyGreen continues to misinform. It is founded on British Common Law which pre-dates Christianity in England and the Renaissance philosophies of John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau. The first five presidents were (not) Christian, they were deists, except Adams who was a Unitarian. The Constitution makes no reference to any particular god. It says that all men are endowed by their Creator, which in my case means my parents. The Constitution also specifies that no religious test should ever be required of any office holder. The Treaty of Tripoli, ratified in 1797, which gives it the force of law, states the government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion. And of course, famously, the Bill of Rights states that Congress can make no law respecting an establishment of religion. Jefferson and Madison, principle authors of the Declaration and the Constitution respectfully, did not believe in the divinity of Christ. Jefferson even created his own version of the Bible, which excluded all the supernatural and religious doctrine, leaving only the moral and biographical information. It ran forty-six pages. And of the Ten Commandments, only two are part of our law, the prohibitions against murder and stealing. These, of course, are part of every moral code, even where the Bible in unknown. It is unfortunate that Americans know so little about their history. The invocation of the so called Judeo-Christian principles is often heard, but is never followed by specification of those principles.

Every State should be fortunate enough to have a Joe Lieberman for Senator. I`m sooooo jealous.

For most of us, going through the womb for the first time was enough! Perhaps being born again a 3rd time might even bring more joy?

Bill Maher was raised by a Catholic father and a Jewish mother. His mother was a Jew by birth only an did not practice her faith. Bills father had a bit more connection to his Catholic faith so Bill was raised in the church. Whether or not you like Bill Maher`s satire and cutting wit dosen`t matter. He has more intelligence and IQ in his bodily waste then Sara Palin has in her entire brain! You know where Bill Maher is going after he passes on? Not to you fairytale hell. Just like everyone else, either up the chimney through cremation or rotting in the ground and returning as everything else does to compost!

Pattygreen, As one who was born in Massachusetts and lived there until 1998, I think I know the political situation there as well as you. I true blue liberal state that is second only IMO to Vermont. It still elected several (moderate) Republican Sen. and Gov. Why...? Because most voter there are somewhat intelligent and want to be represented by the best qualified person regardless of political party affiliation. Waco religious fringe candidates would never win a major election in MA. Your so lucky to have Joe (the drag queen) Lieberman as Sen from your state. A Republican dressed for yours in Democratic clothing. The Masses are truly Asses!

PattyGreen wants America to become a "Theocracy"! Being a Secular Humanist that doesn`t believe in sorcery and fairtales, I think intelligent people even in backwards socialist countries like CANADA find their way around without much difficulty minus FOX NEWS, always Fair and Balanced. Whatabout Ted Haggart (fundamentalist) preacher speaking about the waages of sin and fornication while having a long term affair with a male escort. Whatabout that Senator Craig from Iowa getting caught soliciting a cop in a washroom in MN/ST Paul Airport? Lets not forget NV Senator Ensign, another C ST Family member having several affairs on his wife...more family values? All these good Christian men with Family Values having affairs and being secretly gay while sitting in the pew at church! Hippocrisy is the worst sin of all. Bible belt SC and its Gov Sanford running to be with his soulmate mistress in South America on FATHERS DAY! Excuse me Patty while I vomit! A Pox on your phoney god fearing two faced jerks.

Sarah Palin no doubt is a ignorant dumb idiot, but to the right wing born again charismatic evangelicals its does`t mean a thing. Why you might ask....? Because she`s "Saved! Lets all hope and pray that we are all saved from the likes of her, Tom Coburn,Glen Beck, Shawn Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and the rest of the "Family" on C Street in Washington DC. Liars and hippocrites....all of them! JUst have another affair and have another child out of wedlock and leave the rest of us alone already.

Calling All January 13, 2010 Bandsters!
phil1336 replied to Just-Ice's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just an update. Went to hospital this am for &:00 check in. Surgery was 9:00 am and lasted approx. 45 mins. Was brought to post-op recovery and discharged from hospital at 1:00 pm as out patient. Sore throat, mild chest and shoulder pain from co2 gas. The pre and post op diet called (bandsters hell) is much worse that the surgical procedure. -

phil1336 replied to Jennerator's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one told me that you have to carry an extra pair of underwear with you on the full and clear liquid pre and post op diet. Just when you think you have to pass a little gas, "surprise", a nasty liquid discharge like babies poop. Damn, guess its time to stock up on some adult size Depends throughaways. I know, its gross but......no one discussed it at the doctors office or for that matter on this blog either. -

sdh5463...You`ve gone too far to abort the procedure. Pull the trigger! Almost everyone I`ve spoken to has told me their only regret was they did`nt get the (Band) years earlier and would do it again in a heart beat. Good luck, I`m going in tomorrow myself....1/12/2010 for my surgery. Good luck, and go for it! -
Is it hard to quit drinking Diet Coke?
phil1336 replied to JJLaw08's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know any form of carbonated beverages are discouraged like diet sodas and beer (YIKES), but look at John Daly the PGA Pro Golfer. Still smokes almost 2 packs of cigarettes a day, still sips on a beer or two and guzzles Diet Coke like crazy. Still lost 110 lbs since being banded in Feb 09`. Not saying I`d recommend his compliance but, lots of folks make the band work without being the "perfect"patient. -
Any January 11th bandsters out there????
phil1336 replied to claricey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dan, Your one hell of a Trooper. Going from 308 to 232 in 6 months, sure you need surgery? If I had that kind of will power, I would`nt need the Lap Band. I think you might be able to deal with your weight (without) the surgery. I`m right behind you, going in for my band on Jan. 12! Good luck. -

phil1336 replied to Jennerator's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Minimeme.......I`m rather confused? 97 lbs lost in 3 months and 2 weeks and your kinda iffy on your (Band)? How does one spell negativity or is your glass half empty or half full? You must have had a huge amount of complications with a 200K bill and as for the green beans getting stuck, small pieces and chew, chew, chew. The pain issue is individual case by case but most folks don`t even need their liquid pain medication that they take home from the hospital after the procedure. Hope your weight lose continues and best of luck. I`m getting banded next week and hoping for an easy trip. -
What do you wish someone had told you BEFORE your surgery?
phil1336 replied to Jennerator's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think everyone is well aware before hitting the operating room that the Lap Band is (ONLY) a restrictive devise that will (help) control portion size when eating. There is (NO) mal-nutrition aspect of this procedure since your entire stomach and intestines remain intact. Did they not warn you that they cannot perform a (Brain by-pass) and head hunger will always be an issue to deal with despite that your stomach hunger will be reduced. Its very simply, radical RYN and its surgical risks vs Lap Band and its reversibility. I`d rather chance the Band and an out patient 40 minute operation then 3 hours in surgery and a 3 day hospital stay if theres no complications. -

Mykulafamy, what a hoot...being in Pensacola FL is like living up north in the Plains! Hot as hell in the summer, Cold as hell in the winter! You just traded Hurricanes for Tornados. I would`nt trade living in the Florida Keys for anyplace else in America...truly is Paradise. -
January 14, 2009 Bandsters...where are you?!
phil1336 replied to krstjump03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just-Ice, Just wanted to clarify my previous post. My surgeon has a 4 week post-op diet thats not (all) liquids. First 3 days post-op (clear) liquids, next 10 days (full liquids) yummy protein shakes and cream soups "ggrrr"followed by 2 more weeks of experimenting with purree foods, baby foods, cottage cheese, egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad (all without celery). Weeks 3 & 4 seem almost do able, but post-op week 1 & 2 are going to be rough. -
You live in Key West? I`m moving there soon from Palm Beach County. Getting banded Jan 12. Keep in touch.

Pppl banded but not losing much weight!?! why?!
phil1336 replied to Acerbia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I`m getting my band on Jan 12, 2010. I`m scared as hell cause I`ve been a life long "foodie"! I did`nt put on my weight eating Little Debbie Pastries from the Seven Eleven or drinking cheap domestic beer....but, still got morbidly obese eating the finest of foods. Willpower? Exercise? I`m going to give it my best shot. I figure if John Daly the PGA Golfer was able to drop 100+ lbs in 11 months being a 2 pack a day chain smoker, case a day beer guzzler, 4 time divorcee, I have half that guys baggage, I got a good chance to succeed. -

phil1336 replied to krstjump03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I`m doing Jan 12, 2010 as my surgery date. I can`t believe how its possible to get through (Bandsters Hell)! Just my second day of the 7 day pre-op full liquid diet and I`m starving. Can`t sleep cause I`m hungry and getting headaches too. Doing the 35 G high protein shakes and sugar free pudding and jello but.....still crazy hungry. Then 4 more weeks post-op of the same? The surgery is the easy part the 5 weeks of liquid fasting is the real monster! -
