Good Day Everyone Pre-Post Surgery:My name is Kim. It is a pleasure to be amongst all of you who are on the road to surgery and those who have gone beyond surgery and making a new you happen before your very eyes!I haven't always struggled with my weight. However, as I got older I started seeing a few extra pounds here and there. I had many abdominal surgeries for fibroids. I had my miracle baby in 2006. I had a total hysterectomy in 2007. I had a stroke in 2008. Oh boy, what a wake up call. I was the do it all single mom.....cooking the bacon, eating the bacon (maybe too much bacon...lol), getting my baby ready for school, fixing him breakfast, driving him to school, going on to work to deal with the drama of an unappreciative boss. Get off, pick my son up, go home, fix dinner, do homework since I was going for my Graduate degree at the time as well. Then on 2/22/2008 I had a stroke where it began at work. I knew I was serious when I had to have someone else at the rehabilitation center give me a shower. I remain on the recovering list and have had many different medications which I found out some of them had the side effect of gaining weight. Well, heck I didn't need to gain anymore weight especially since I wasn't active anymore. Now I have trouble walking....why? They believe it is stemmed from the stroke so back to physical therapy I go. It is hard to see myself now having high blood pressure, sleep apena (stopped breathing over 250 times during a sleep study), hard to walk due to stroke (but the weight doesn't make it any easier), depression etc etc. I haven't taken/stop/retaken so much medicine before in my life. So here I am!I look forward to chatting with you all ones that are in the pre stage with me and those who can become mentors to me and the others who are in the same stage who want to get the "real" deal motivators and the be careful ofs.God blessKim :)
