Liz, I am truly sorry for your struggles and i know exactly how you feel. I was banded 3 days before Christmas of 09. I had lost 34lb then slowly gained it back. I too had problems with protein, but in my case i failed to seek my doc for the assistance i needed. Then once i learned what foods i could get down easily so that i might feel that "full" feeling i was told id never feel again, i used them every time i was stressed or sad. I realized all i was doing was fighting my band. I need a band for my head not my stomach. I am having my band removed. I wasn't prepared. I am going back to good ol diet and exercise, as well as therapy to help me figure out why i use food the way i do and what triggers me. I applaud all of you who have had success, i know it has not been easy. Liz, you have to find what works for you regardless of what others say. Take care.

So its been months since iv been on here, i guess i have been avoiding banders and well my band. I was banded 12/22/2009 i lost 35 lb then stopped getting fills i slowly started gaining my weight back and got fed up with the band about 3 weeks ago i got all the fluid released now im alomst back to where i was when i got banded. im going in for a fill on the 9th and ima try this again. Any words of encouragment or your stories would really help. =)

So i have no work this week, and im hungry and broke soooo i cant go anywhere and im stuck in the house with the enemy (food) any ideas on things to keep me busy and keep my mind off food?

I got on the scale this morn and im down another lb so that was good motevation i eat a good breakfast and ima goto the gym today. Good luck with everything

Im two weeks post op and i was having the same problem. Try not to drink your protein in the morning, thats when you should be eating. Cottage cheese is good. Try scrambled eggs or beans things that will stay with you for a long time. If you eat your protein in the morning you should be less hungry during the day. Good luck.

6 days post op and im feelin pretty good. I went to the gym yesterday and walked which felt great and i guess you could say i was feeling a bit ballsy so i made some egg salad ( 3 days before the doc says i can ) it went down fine and tasted yummy. Then i had half of a veggie burger and that went down fine i thought hey who needs stinkin liquids any more. Then it was my boyfriends mothers work christmas party....i wasnt even hungry. But i nibbled i had i nibble of a little hotdog a nibble of a chicken wing and a nibble of a brownie. All my nibbles didnt even add up to a real bit but they didnt have to. Nothing got "stuck" but it was very very uncomfortable. It wasnt until this morning that i felt better. So lesson learned. I will start soft moist food tomorrow. :drool:

ok so i was banded two days ago. and when i went into the hospital my scale at home said i weighed 255.2lb and when i got up this morn is said 262lb someone please tell me that it is just water weight or something.:cursing:

I was banded yesterday!!!! the surgery only took 30 min. and the staff was awesome. didnt get any sleep last night i just dont like hospitals. Im home now tryin to take it easy and lovin the sugar free fudge pops. Thanks to everyone that wished me luck. I guess the really journey starts now. Thanks for the support im sure i will need much more in the future.

Well tomorrow is the big day! I cant wait. This liquid diet is kickin my butt, but i never gave in not once not even a nibble. It kinda empowering not giving into food. Knowing that resisting will be worth it and not obsessing or overeating. Its a strange feeling but a good one. Wish me luck!:cursing:
