hi all so i am doing pretty good...i am 5 months out and about 46ish pounds lost which is amazing...i am however hitting a wall its seems...i'm not really loosing as much as i would like. i am going for an adjustment...my 3rd.... i was also looking for good food advice... i feel like i'm doing something wrong... i eat pretty good but on occasion i eat something i shouldn't...i have controlled myself with that for the most part... sometimes i feel however that once i cheat its like i instantly gain a pound or two and that my exercise is not doing anything! i dunno i think most of it is psychological but who knows...anyone have any advice?

i recommend the yoplay whipped yogurt that worked really well for me...and as far as the weight loss...dont worry once you get your adjustment when its time it will all melt off...i was stuck at 25 pounds lost which was all pre surgery until just before my first adjustment...i actually gained1-2 pounds back....since then i have lost 10 more pounds...just focus on healing and feeling healthy....good luck!

wow thats so exciting...congrats! have fun visiting your family!

one thing that has really helped keep me motivated is if you over eat your gonna feel sick and if you eat things you shouldn't your gonna feel so...so its really helped cuz i felt it the one time after i didn't listen and ate bread when i shouldn't of... i haven't eaten bread since! the surgery is the best thing you can do...i have so much more energy than i did pre surgery and i'm only 35 pounds down...i cant even begin to imagine how great its going to be!

it really all depends on your surgeon...mine had me on protein shakes as well as the broths and stuff..but i would also put protein in the broths...so i didn't have a problem with that...if your not allowed to do that then i would suggest drinking a lot of milk...and extra vitamins!

good luck...keep thinking positive! -
yeah i would go for another fill...its there to help you...as far as diet wise...i suggest ham, turkey, tuna or any fish for that matter...do stemmed veggies stuff like that...less sugar the better...actually i would also recommend looking at a diabetic cookbook...most of them are really healthy meals and taste pretty good!.... also return to the gym and kick up your workout a notch it will help...it all pays off...100 pounds is extremly impressive...
-
you def. have a great diet set up pre op...bread is def. something your gonna wanna avoid post op.... i would also recommend when eating jello or pudding get the sugar free...its really good and you can't tell the differece its so much better for you...also i drink a lot of juice/milk/water since the post op.... i dunno if your big on soda but thats def. something your gonna have to cut out also...its not really not bad once you get banded though... at this point i can eat anything i want obviously with restrictions but in general i don't really have to watch what i eat! Good Luck!

i had to drink protein shakes...they were pretty good...drink regular milk too it really helps change the taste and fill you up....i got my surgery 10/21...it took me really about 2 weeks to feel "normal" i was very tired and didn't really wanna do too much...but once you get over that hump its amazing... you start to shed the pounds off and you will realize how worth it the surgery was!
-
make yourself think twice before eating something...sometimes it makes you put the thing down!
-
honestly its so worth it...i was the same way...you will be hungry soon...just remember to drink lots of fluids thats your best bet...
-
wow that is a long time inbetween..i got mine on the 2nd and i go again on the 30th of this month.....it took my first adjustment for me to fully realize portion control...good luck!

so i was filled on 12/2....i'm assuming whatever swelling i had from the fill is gone so now i'm able to eat a tad more than before...still not enough but thats another blog! anywho so i'm still struggling with the whole wanting to eat all the time... i've been working hard at not letting it control me.. i'm up to 34 pounds lost which is really exciting...i'm at the point where people can def. tell and i have had people who are oblivous to things come up and say how good i look. it def. is a nice positive ego boost... so far it has kept me going...my blood pressure is def. way lower...i'm hoping next doctors appointment i can get it lowered..i think its too low on the dose i'm on now... my biggest fear is this coming week. Sunday is my birthday and i know some of my family want to take me out...i also have a christmas party saturday, next thursday and next sunday so i guess they are going to be my first big test. Hopefully i do well with it and there is no problems... all i can do is think positive thoughts. :tongue2:

every day is a challenge...i have found that since the swelling has gone down from my first fill that i can eat more and i have figured out what my slider foods are...trust me i have had some ruff days but the next day i get up and put it in my head that i'm goign to be good today...and i try and focus on other things to keep me busy...if i am really craving food sometimes i'll make myself go for a walk or go for a drive...that way i'm as far away from food as i can be...i totally understand how frustrating it can be...its all a mental game that you can over come!

SERIOUSLY!!! considering the BAND!!!

honestly it was the best thing i could of ever done before...it not painful...at least for me it wasn't...its just a big life style change... you have to be prepared to eat less..eat healthier and work out (you don't have to but if you want to get the maximum results i suggest it) When you get banded there is about a 6 week recovery in sense of it wont be filled...so after a week or so your going to feel hungry and your going to be able to eat more than you will probably want to...Once you get your first fill thats when it really all begins. I just got my first fill on 12/2. He filled me 7.5 which was prolly a lil too much but i'm working with it. Every meal i eat is centered around protein(chicken, turkey, ham, cheese, fish, etc) i do not drink with my meals...makes your hungry faster, i also find if i do drink right after it actually hurts a bit...i can eat about 1/4 cup at a sitting...the goal is to eat 1 cup at a sitting...Of course there are certain foods people with the band should avoid but thats just more a matter of avoiding complications. I have chosen to mainly cut out sugar of my diet. i found it has been easy...your biggest thing to remember is to become creative in how you eat things...for example if you really like mayo on your sandwitch but can live w/o it i use either diojonaze or i used avacado's that are mashed up and spread it like a spread....its good and has a lot less calories...the surgery itself isn't bad at all....most of the time its same day...i arrived at the hospital at 6am...and left around 9pm that night...i had very minimal pain that night which i took a liquid pain pill my doctor prescribed for me...the only pains i had were from gas.... within 3 days after surgery i was eating creamy soups and egg salad...it was great....i can honestly say i myself was shocked how quick and easy of a recovery it was... -
wow really thats really small...i guess every doctor is different...they filled mine with 7.5cc...but i think he over filled me...it may be beter to start out slow...i've been having a lot of problems with eating since the fill!!

i have only lost 33 pounds so far...as of now i don't have any sagging skin.. if you don't exercise/weight lift... it will most likely sag...thats been my biggest fear this whole time so right when i was cleared to start the gym i did!
