I've had an issue with weight for about 15 years.  Have tried many things, but nothing has worked.  I am not living my life now with this weight.  I avoid social situations and going anywhere I don't have to go.  It's putting a strain on my relationship and I just plain feel unhappy about it.  I find it difficult to do a lot of things because my knees ache and exercise is difficult because I feel so heavy.I think lapband surgery will give me the best chance at a major weight loss.  I know that achieving this and maintaining it is only partly about the band and partly about my mindset and dealing with issues that have caused me to gain the weight and of course healthy eating and exercise.I'm looking for input from other bandsters regarding experience with different surgeons.  Because of the prohibitive cost in Canada and the US and the 5 - 7 year wait list in eastern Canada where I live for the government funded surgery, I'm thinking of going out of country to have the procedure.
