I have been BIG my whole life I was in second grade and I weighed 145 lbs.  I have always been known as Big Ryan and I lived with it my whole life. One day not long after my first daughter was born I ended up in the hospital for a pulmonary embolisms (Blood Clot) at the time I was 22 years old. I have been trying to lose weight my entire life but food in my house was always the star. my parents owned several restaurants and there was always food ready to be cooked and eaten , by the way I am a great cook I have been cooking since I was 6 and I have perfected my craft on myself. I have tried to get my insurance to pay for the surgery for at least 6 yrs. not until I started working for the school district was I able to find an insurance that covered it AMEN !!!!! . I started my journey January 1st 2009 six months of doctors visits both medical and mental I guess they think it is crazy to let someone cut you open and place a rubber band inside you to control your eating capacity so they want to make sure this is a conscious decision and get you ready for what is to come .I am on the first 4 days of my liquid diet and I am going crazy . specially because I am the cook in my house and I have to make the kids their food and such so thank you for listening I hope to be strapped  in a couple of days and we will see what we do from theirp.s. My new birth day is set to be Dec 14th 2009
