Initially thought I would do the lap band but quickly changed my mind, way too much "up keep" - forever. I don't think insurance will pay for it, it is relatively new. Quickly found out, insurance won't pay for "vanity" - oh well. Thank goodness, I was forced to come to Texas, chose one of the 'Top Docs' in Dallas and had someone in his office tell me to read up on sleeve surgery. I read up on it for six months and had it done June 11, 2010. Wow, life has changed with forced portion control. I love it, it's been easy for me. I had no health issues and stuck to the program religiously....so I have done pretty darn good. I've been maintaining since December 2010....with no trouble at all. Life is good.....I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Not one minute of buyer's remorse!!

Almost 3.5 years out this is my "dashboard", what I do every day.....and have from week two.
1) I log my food on line
2) I weigh and measure all my food when we're home
3) I weigh every morning
4) I attend support groups
It is imperative that I do these things, they are as natural to me as breathing. I am not an exercise guru.....it would be short lived - old age, a twisted ankle or boredom would do me in. Exercise cannot be what helps me maintain just like it had NOTHING to do with my weight loss. Determination did.....my lifestyle changes, that is what did it and continues to this day.
