the only advice that I have for you is not to buy up a lot of it. After surgery your taste will change and if you buy up tons of it you will be stuck with it and cant drink it. I know my taste changed for milk yougurt and my protein powder. It was like I had to get used to it again after surgery. Now if you still thinks it rocks after surgery then buy it up.

How did you approach the scale after surgery?
Billy363627 replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes you should not weigh more than once a week. There will be times when you stall and it will drive you crazy everyday and wind up depressing you. It is really a mind thing that you have to control because you will start thinking to yourself is this it is this all the weight I am going to lose. I weight once a week and when I lose I am happy and if I don't I always tell myself maybe next week. -
I am soo close yet so far away. I weighed today and I was 300. Do you know how many years that I have been over three hundred pounds? I can't remember anything below 300

just a line to tell ya I will be thinking about you and wishing you a fast recovery. good luck and if you need anything let me know..

Well tracy I take celebrate chewable vitamins, calicum citrate and protonics. If you are doing this make sure you get a good ppi before you have surgery and take it without fail. Some people also take b-12 sublingual. But until my blood test comes back bad for B-12 I will just take my celebrate chewables..

Billy363627 replied to kemo46's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Blackberry I think they are trying to get them prepared for the clear liquids after sugery. my doctor thought it would be a good idea to make me suffer with clears for 4 weeks 2 before and 2 after. But in the end it really helped me out.. -
Prepared liquid protein drink (EAS,SLIMFAST)
Billy363627 replied to kemo46's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yep that clear liquid thing. my doctor said to make the protein with water and it would be clear. Make it with milk and it would be thick.. I know that is very confusing. I think it is the consistancy of the protein shake. From day one I used and still use Gnc wheybolic amplified extreme 60. when you mix it with water it is like water.. A lot of other proteins are thick but this is consistancy of water. I truly think in my opinion that the chochlate in this is truly the best protein that I have tried to date. I have not tried unjury but there is no unjury store right down the road from my house. So if you are preordering a month or better they say that unjury is truely awesome too. -
Day 2 of Liquid diet and co-workers are eating ribs
Billy363627 replied to Husky2Healthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
funny this is truely funny. I know that it is not to you. Your will power will be tested my friends every day and the closer to surgery you will be tested even more.. I truely know your pain. My sister in law got snowed out of her house ,and had to stay at our house and she ate non-stop.. First she ate two plates of food, then choclate cover raisens, then fiddle faddle, then cheese nips, then ice cream..OMG I was ready to get my gun out and shoot her. The only thing I got that night was mmm sooo good chicken broth. I was soo glad when the snow stop falling.. Donuts were my temptation at work. It seemed like everyone brought donuts all that week..geeez You have to put all that behind you and keep on trucking forward. When you get tempted always remember what you are doing this for and walk away. You will make it I promise you!!! -
Am I stretching my sleeve???
Billy363627 replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you are doing fine..You are on puree foods they do not stick in your stomach very long. thick liquids are the same. just don't go over your Protein requirements or eat a lot of carbs. IF you think you are eating too much put 3 oz of food in your bowl and eat that really slowly and when you get done then wait 10 minutes. iF you are truly hungry eat the rest. The true meaning of being full is being satisified without hunger. It will become more difficult to get that much food in when your on solids. They say they are done after a few bites because they are one solid samantha. -

Anything we can eat not loaded with carbs
Billy363627 posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Everything that I pick up is loaded with carbs good or bad for you!!! Even gum sugerfree gum has carbs..geez!!!! Any way enough of the muttering..Is there anything other than proteins that we can have as a persay snack that you can have without guilt?? The only thing soo far that I have found is pickle spears..They seem to have no nutritional value. Some times I want something and I don't want to lean on carbs. I ate watermelon and pineapple this weekend and wow I didn't realize that it had soo many carbs in it..Can anyone help me on this?? -

can`t use the restroom
Billy363627 replied to martin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to a drug store and get some benefiber. A lot of people here use miralax but benefiber is less harsh on your system. You need to increase your Water intake too. It really helps because you are mostly on Proteins. -
They say that Dr. Aceeves is one of the best in Mexico. There are a lot of folks that used him and from what I have heard the hospital is quite amazing and clean.. There will be some more to chime in on this post who used him. Good luck and as far as the Bmi I don't think there is a lot of things that you can do about it..

Able to drink too much too soon??
Billy363627 replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yep the doctor told me it was like a funnel with just liquids..wait until you get to solid foods and you will be on the floor screaming with 3 ounces.lol anyway it is normal you wont feel the restrictions like he said until you get to solids.. But it really seems like that you are doing wonderful.. -
The taste of food changes...I think it is due mostly to anestesia. I hope I spelled that right..I am just now kinda sorta getting my taste buds back. I am almost 3 months post op.. It will get better you just have to give it some time..

Question on eating then waiting to drink
Billy363627 replied to kaj7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when I am having a liquid day there is nothing to stay in your stomach so I don't wait 30 afterward. the reason they ask you to wait is that it give your stomach time to start breaking down the foods in your stomach. when you are drinking protein drinks there is nothing to break down. I am eating solids but I do take a sip or two of water so everything goes down smoothly. You have to remember that there are times your body is going to slow down and try to catch up with your weight loss(this is called a stall) It happens to everyone there is no way to prevent it. You really have to have faith and a lot of patience in these times. Try upping your water intake and protein you will get back to losing again. -
Pre-op Appointmet with my Surgeon
Billy363627 replied to meggiep's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you can start when every you want. Just call your doctor and tell him that you are planning a family thing and that your not starting your liquids until afterwards. He may move your date a couple of days but the girls in the office do understand that we are human and things happen.. I will give you some advice be very dedicated to your liquids. It will be hard as hell for the first 3 days but it is well worth it. The better you do on liquids right now is the better your going to do after surgery. Also get with doc and get started on a ppi (previcid,protonics,zantac..etc)if your not on one right now. It is awesome he is using a 32 bungie on you. it makes a small sleeve. The sutures make the sleeve tighter also. I am soo excited for you. this truly as been the most awesome thing I have ever done for myself. It has helped me with my self esteem as well as the way I look at myself as a whole. I wish you soo much good luck and a fast recovery. -

Day 20. Almost Human.
Billy363627 replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your life will get better every day and when the NSV and the weightloss happens. You will be soo glad that you did this for yourself. It is very life changing for the good.. -
I think that you are doing an awesome thing for yourself. My experence was really good no complications no issues. They do give you blood thinners while you are in the hospital so that will ease your mind a little. The best advice that I can give you is to walk and drink as much as possible after surgery. Your pain will be less and you will heal a lot faster. You will have to push yourself after surgery and it will be hard to get out of bed, but you will feel so much better for doing so. I will tell you that this is the best thing that I ever did for myself and If I had to do it again I would do it 100 times over. Before surgery also make sure your doc puts you on a ppi. such as nexium, protonics, prevacid etc.etc.. good luck and please keep us posted

I personally would stay away from it.. The bread from what I have read is not really good for your sleeve. I have read in a couple of areas that people have eating bread and they were miserable afterwards.. I think that personally the bread would get clumped up in your sleeve and swell .
