Stall all ready
Billy363627 replied to Lots Of Hope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
seem like you Protein is a little high I kept my to around 60 after surgery. If you do that and keep your carbs below 25 grams and up your Water intake your pounds will start flying off.. the most important part is the hydration. don't lose your patients yet you will break it soon and never look back. jUST dont get frustrated . -
yep I remember my last supper.. I had steak, lobster, shrimp, crab asparagus, loaded baked potatoes, and new york cheese cake.. that was an awesome last supper
-
yep I agree with thin. You have the rest of your life to drink alcohol. It is just too soon. I would say wait at least 6 months or so.

HELP ADDICTED TO HERSHEY CHOCOLATE!!!!
Billy363627 replied to mina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just wanted to let you know that about 2 times a week I eat one square off a small bar of hersheys dark.. You don't have to be perfect you just have to have control. I think after surgery you will have more control and if your lucky you will not have very many sweet cravings. -
You can let the diet coke go flat and then drink it. I know it is not the same but it is better than nothing. I can do damage to your sleeve if you drink it fully carbonated.

It is really hard to explain. For me I sometimes mourn the loss of all the foods and it makes me sad. Sometimes I just want to dive right into a good ol cheesburger and fries and it kinda makes me sad because I can't pig out.. Some times Its just there no reason you just have a sucky day and here is nothing you can do about it. when I finally start talking to myself and say you did this for your health etc...etc.. I tend to feel better. but sometimes it is just there. I can tell you to try to focus on positive things, but sometimes it dont' work for me either.. I wish you all the luck in the world, but the busier you stay the less you focus on being blue..

High Protein Diet = Diarrhea?
Billy363627 replied to Kassie B.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
some times a trigger food or drink messes with your bowls. In general a high protein diet will give you constipation. The trigger food that messes with me is coffee. I usually drink on cup a day and I drink it and 20 minutes later I am in the bathroom.. Are you eating anything ith a lot of fat or grease in it? sometimes it just happens, but it is usually caused by a trigger food.. -
12 Days Post-Op and I am FREEZING COLD!!
Billy363627 replied to wannabe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep when we shed our winter coats aka(fat) we tend to get colder faster. I could keep my house 74 degrees and be perfectly fine with it..The others living in my house don't think that 74 is a good number so pretty much cover up with some blankets for warmeth. I think this is a side effect I can live with.. -
I feel your pain..I tend to still eat too fast when I am extremely hungery. My food always talk to me when I eat too fast..

Cheating on day 10 of post op
Billy363627 replied to Laney's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes they are trying to get you used to a liquid diet because the first4 to6 weeks you are more likely to develop a stomach leak. trust me you don't want a staple leak.. IF you develop a stomach leak you will be put in hospital with just water to drink you will be tube fed. You need to get your head back in the game because once you have the surgery you have to follow what the doctor say or you will be at risk of causing yourself harm. I hate to be so harsh , but this is extremely important. I did not cheat on mine I wanted to but never did and it really helped me when I got out of surgery. Stay focused on the goal you want..It takes a lot of will power but worth every once of effort you put fourth. -
first of all how many carbs are you consuming?? Second are you getting your protein and water intake in. if you are getting less than 25 carbs in per day then up your water intake. You have to totally change what you are doing. Kinda throwing your body for a loop. But it is extremely important to watch carb intake.

I was dong great, then I blew it!
Billy363627 replied to warrior68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take in one square of hersheys dark choclate every once in a while but I don't go overboard. You have got to regain conrtrol of your actions. get back on the no carb wagon. I would hate to see you gaining your weight back and when you start doing this it will make you depressed and you will want to eat more and therefore put on more weight. I wish you luck but there is something called the 5 day pouch test look it up it is not I late for you. -

LONG STALL??? or worst fear true??
Billy363627 replied to Hip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well first of all how many carbs are you taking in?? This is not the band so we are limited to 60-80 grams of proteins and no more than 25 grams of carbs. It sounds like you are doing quite a few carbs with 1000-1200. I am only pulling in around 700-800 calories in. Remember proteins first and then veggies second. You shouldn't have that much room for anything else. If you are doing all of this then up your water intake. Carbs is a lot of what kills weight loss for us. Brother and let me tell you that just about everything you eat has carbs. Also you don't have very much to lose so you will have to be more strict on what you eat to keep the scales moving. Good luck and keep us posted. -
April Update from everyone
Billy363627 replied to Ready2BHealthier's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
to dream try drinking warm liquids like warm water or decafe tea. Warm things may go down better. It will not last that long though you should be drinking pretty good within 2 weeks.. -

One year tomorrow and a kidney stone
Billy363627 replied to cwalker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I will defintely be praying for you..good luck and please keep us posted -
well elizabeth I probably read 100's and 100's of articles on each surgery out there and did the pro's and con's on all of them. First the band has a really high failure rate after 5 years. If the band fails you have to have it taken out and there comes the weight back on. the Ryn there are soo many foods that you cant eat with the ryn. they reroute you intestines to make your food malabsorb. Wasn't a good choice for me. Now to the sleeve. Well the sleeve does not re-route anything and there is no plastic inserted for failure. Now you will be able to eat as much as if you got Ryn ,but every ounce will be digested unlike the ryn. You will have to take vitamin suppliments after surgery due to the small amount of food you intake daily, but it is a small price to pay for the weight you will drop. I would not hesitate in doing the sleeve again if it was my choice to make again. The only thing I would change is having it when I was younger. The biggest advice I can give you is to do your research and make a good decesion based on your findings. Because in the end it is not going to be me living with the decesion you made. It will be you..
