I have been noticing some acid reflux at night when going to bed before laying down. After I go to sleep (never had enough to prevent falling asleep or anything), I never wake up with any problems, in fact it's gone if I ever wake up in the middle of the night. Maybe it's taking my meds at night that is doing it. My last fill was about 2 mos. ago and I went from 6-8ccs - pretty aggressive. I've lost about 10ish lbs. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I am 8 mos. post op and am just now seeing the hair loss. I expected it about 4-5 mos. post-op since that's when it happened with my pregnancies, but I don't remember it ever happening. Do you think it could still be from the surgery or do you think I have a nutrient deficient?

Hey there! Congrats on the band! From what I can tell by what you are saying, this is restriction, but mine went away rather quickly without the fill. I'm now on my 3rd fill (8cc in an 11cc band) and have restriction that comes and goes. Once you start with regular food and if you "forget" to chew properly, you will definitely feel it. It can tend to get rather painful going down until it passes through - it's an odd feeling too when it passes. I was banded in February, started at 194 and am down to about 169. I don't eat the right kinds of foods though or I'd be at goal. But if I could do that, I wouldn't have needed the band.

did you ever find anyone to do fills in VA? I'm in the Shenandoah Valley and need to find someone closer than my current Dr. 2 1/2 hrs away.

Hi! I was banded in Mexico and am in search of a closer fill doctor. I go to a great fill Dr. in Frederick, MD - Dr. Brinkley but it's over 2 hours each way. So, I'm looking for a closer Dr. to do my fills. Does anyone have any good experiences in the Charlottesville, Richmond, Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Shenandoah Valley with a Dr. that will see Mexico patients? If so, how much $$?

I went to Dr. Ariel Ortiz (www.obesitycontrolcenter.com) and the price was approx. $7k. That's all inclusive except for airfare and your guest's meals. I had a fabulous experience and would do it again in a heartbeat! I decided to go to Mexico because I have a lower BMI (34) and knew that insurance would not cover it and I knew that I was just going to keep gaining if I didn't take steps to get it under control now. Hello all, I'm going to be banded next month in TJ, Mexico by Dr. Ortiz and need a local Dr. to do my fills and would prefer fluoro. The closest fillcenterusa local is 3.5 hours away.
