  1. Thanks for the thread. I have to have port revision surgery is well--just found out Thursday that more than likely my port has flipped. Even if it had not, it was always awkardly turned causing both of my two fills to be very painful, so my doctor said I would need a revision. Do they unfill you for the surgery?
  2. Basically I have to have surgery where he will go in and put it somewhere more accessible. They have to get insurance approval and then I can schedule the surgery. Trying to think postive--and least the band it is okay and the surgery will be pretty quick and no more painful fills. I joined a new gym because I need to stay on track! Thanks for the encouragement!
  3. Really down after my doctor visit. I had lost 8lbs (my scale must be way off!) but I told my doctor I know I need a fill and he agreed! Well as usual he had a hard time accessing my port, but this time was really hard--the bad news is my port has flipped and I have to have port revision surgery. So Phil left the doctor's empty again and now will not get him a "drink" (fill) for some time.
  4. My port was very awkwardly turned and extremely hard to access--my doctor told me to come back--but not in 2 months! He said if when I retuned and it would not fill blind, he would do fluoro. It was about about 3 weeks later because he was hoping more weight loss would turn it back. Two months does not sound right. Three weeks was bad enough, but two months I cannot comprehend why.
  5. I been away so long!! My new job is kicking my butt--I do not have time to get at everyone, but wanted to say hang in their Melody and Leigha--you are so fab--you totally can stop!! In general I am with Karen and others who are off track a little We can do this--just a little stumble right? With the new promotion, the long hours and on-the-go eating was killing me--I gained 8lbs over the last month--I got my but in gear Saturday (first time I even had time to weigh!!!!). I already this week have lost them--had to go cold turkey--shakes and one low carb meal! I get a fill today for Phil as he has I have NO restriction--can eat anything!! Congrats on others loses and NSV's:thumbup: Go to go--another meeting!!!

    Labor Day Challenge

Down a 1lb and happy--did not get to exercise but once and not on my usual eating routine, and no restriction, so I gladly take that pound:biggrin:
  7. Hey--been gone for a few--wow hard to catch up! Welcome to our newcomers. BTW I am 37 old principal (newly promoted:smile2:) I was banded in January--I have lost about 74lbs including pre-op and 30lbs before the pre-op on a six month supervised diet for a total of 100. I have had 2 fills and I am trying to wait patiently for the 3rd--but "Phil" is not happy! Congrats on the NSV's Denise, Karen, and Leigha--hang in there Karen with fill (you know wish I had that problem). Christie--exercise a bully--love it!! Bobbie--welcome Back and Anne! Okay I know I mised a few, but hey trying get ready for "our future":wink2:
  8. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Got to get back on the routine--we are on summer hours which means we work 10hr days but we are off on Fridays. I am not used to getting home at 6:30-7:00. Usually I have worked out by then and the eating dinner. Karen--I think that is really good about not needing the BB--to me that means it has become a way of life, natural, so you don't need it as much. Good for you! Leigha--yummy. Principal shad--not bad if shad was not a fish! I am usually Miss B--I hoping it has not meant bitch all this time--actually I wouldn't care if it did lol Christie--glad Steve has been walking the straight and narrow Denise--pooh on the 5lbs--I don't know--my ticker probably would have stayed the same lol

    Labor Day Challenge

Down 1.6--I will take because not a great week--only exercised once and off eating routine because of new job--going to get back on track this week
  10. What was the date of your surgery? 1-14-10 How healthy did you/do you eat? pretty healthy high protein and low fat, low carbs will treat myself, but still stay within calories How much do you exercise? 5 times a week for an hour on good week, 3 times on a bad week How much have you lost? 70lbs including pre-op and 30 on the 6mth consultation--total 100 Are you happy with your results? Yes, will be even happier with restriction
  11. Okay been away for awhile. The new job has been a whirlwind--promoted to principal btw--five weeks until teachers come back and six until the children fill the halls!!! (Need a smiley with its hair on top of his head, but this one will have to do:ohmy: or this one:eek: Thanks Bob and congrats Cryst/HB--Things have been so crazy I did not even realize I had hit the century mark!--I never count, when I tell people how much I have lost, the 30lbs I lost before the pre-op diet so I had not technically considered myself at 100 (have thought often of taking it off my ticker). I don't want people to think I lost 100lbs in six months! Not that 70 something is not something to be proud of, but I do not want them to get unrealistice expectations of the band. Denise--no fill in a year certainly proves you have used the tool and deserve a fill. Hope GI goes well Stacie--much success with the 5k...one day when I hit onederland perhaps Leigha--so sorry to hear about your friend. You all will be in my prayers that the best decision is made Karen--yeah on the 10! Not planning to get there (but hey it could happen) so I will live vicariously through you for now Christie and Denise--can relate to the bad eating--the job threw everything off track including food and exercise--got to get back on the grind next week--didn't gain but have not loss. I so past due a fill for "Phil" but you all know his story. He is hungry and can eat a lot if I do not pull the reigns on him Donna--welcome very good attainable goals! I'm sure I missed some folks--sorry For all my stress, planning some "retail therapy" sessions at the end of the month.
  12. I agree--that is the bad thing about forums--all you get are words and they can be intepreted so many ways. Yes Bob I am pretty positive my promotion has to do with weight loss, not all but some. ThanksKaren Leigha--skinny maybe, rich NOT, but I can am going to work the raise!
  13. Karen-- it was not on first base so I guess there is a bright side to puking? Crystal--I am curious too so keep us updated. Sorry you are having so much trouble away from home Leigha--You are now smaller than some European models! You are officially skinny! Amazing Bob--my iPad keeps making auto correcting moobs as mobs lol Good news is I got a promotion-- now if I could just a fill...lol

    High protein cereal?!?

Another poster got me to try a cereal at Targert made by Archer--"Cinnamon Twist" high protein--has 15 grams of Protein not including the milk and 30grams of carbs I am more of a "South Beach Diet" person in regards to carbs in that I only eat whole-grain carbs and no white sugars--I try to limit those to breakfast. I eat my carbs last as directed, so I get limited carbs anyway.
  16. It is really not that serious Shelley and really between Bob and the OP on another thread--why chastise him and then come to a whole another thread and be just as rude and call people you do don't know who agree with Bob a clique? Really I take everything said up here with a grain of salt because really no one is an expert. Can't we just all get along? BTW Subway also has yogurt--Dannon light and fit.
  17. Denise--earthquake--gosh! Thanks for encouragment--it does help Bobilocks lol Leigha--since he is banded, forget the heart--we are going band to band!! lol Melody--enjoy and let me know how the carbs in the morning work--I would like to try it Christie--Steve needs a timeout:) Karen--addiction to fills? Kinda wish I had your problem--or better yet your doctor~ BTW I was trying to think of a name for band. Maybe Phil since I can't get a "phil":tt2: Yes it is hot as my hubby would say--it is hotter than a whore at the Million Man March:ohmy:
  18. I an also doing the Labor Day Challenge. I have myself down to lose 43lbsm but that will depend on how Labor Day goes.
  19. Wow--what an ordeal! I am so glad you feel better!

  21. Catching up Dottie--glad to hear you are doing well Denise--pretty--I cannot wear my wedding set:( Stacie--glad everything turned out okay Bobbie--keep your positive spirit and things will turn around Leigha--Congrats on completing C2K Regardless of the time. that is an amazing accomplishment:biggrin: Karen--another gadget--I like:) Let us know how TurboJam works. I workout a lot at home so I am always looking for DVD's that really work you out. Jacki--Congrats awesome weight loss:thumbup: As for me, I have not had my hair cut yet--waiting until the end of the month, before vacation. I went for a fill on the 29th--my doctor did not give me one:mad: He said I was losing at a good rate and that this time it was not so much about being overfilled, but also not rushing me to the point where I will not be able to alot of different foods. I am pretty bummed and considering finding a doctor who is more aggressive with fills. The only reason I have not left is because he is looking out for his patients as several of us report that he is not aggressive with them either, I generally like him, and being a bandster himself, he speaks from experience. I have found someone else but cannot get in right away. I think I will try my surgeon for the next appointment and make the appointment with a new one, depending on how it goes--I don't know--I am losing so I cannot be upset. However, I have a little restriction from my two fils and I am trying to work the heck out of it. Ironically I seem to be tighter the last few days--go figure.

    4th of July Challenge!

I am going to say I met because I was only 2oz from my goal--I will lose that tomorrow!! It has been tough with no restriction and did not get a fill last time so seven more weeks with barely any restriction. I posted the spreadsheet for the Labor Day challenge--I will truly have to labor for the next 15lbs!

    Labor Day Challenge

I am in for 15lbs. I would shoot for 20lbs, but I do have a vacation before Labor Day which is going to push my getting a fill a week later in August. Like the 4th of July challenge, these weeks will be with very little restriction, so I better stick with 15lbs. Here is the spreadsheet: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ap1qXRkd4RRydEFfa2pPb19reVlTa25Qb1hlYUktcFE&hl=en&authkey=CLuLqfUE
