  1. I like this math. If I did this correctly, that would put me at averaging 2lbs per week! Not sure about the EBW, I know I want to lose 149lbs which means I have lost 23.4% of that already if I did the math right (math is not my strong suit:smile:) .
  2. My hair is thinning, but not falling out in masses that it is even noticeable. I actually think my in is genetics, as all the women in my family hair begins to thin around 40 and gradually worsens as you get older. Just in case, I get well over 60grams of protein, take Biotin and getting protein treatments from hairstylist.

    4th of July Challenge!

Weighed on my mom's scale--it said no weight loss, but her scale is not digital, so trying to be still is hard. I am going to weigh on my scale tomorrow just to check.
  4. Got my BB:thumbup:. Between it and finally my second fill on tomorrow, hopefully I can really turn it up a notch!!

    4th of July Challenge!

    You should not have to?
  7. I too have to eat at work because I get up so early. I make shakes the night before, eat a protein bar, grab Greek yogurt and string cheese, poor omelete mix in muffin pan and have like mini-omelete muffins that I eat off the rest of the week, get a rubbermaid bowl with milk--warm it up and add oatmeal and when it cools some, I add vanilla protein mix. I sometimes eat that high protein cereal from Target someone suggested on the boards. I also make breakfast quesadillas with Southwestern style egg beaters, FF cheese, and a low carb or whole grain tortilla because I can save the rest (I usually can eat one and a half) for breakfast the next day or as a snack. I also eat the turkey smoke sausage and toast some whole grain bread or wrap it in a low-carb tortillas Hope this helps
  8. I too eat whole grain carbs--and trust I am a carb addict. However, I cannot do rice well or potatoes, so I do not eat them often. I do whole grain to keep things moving, and I find even with no restriction, I am full longer. Most importantly, this band is about a life style change. Everything I do, I ask myself can I maintain this for the rest of my life. I know I am not going to never eat bread again, so I learn to avoid white sugar, bread, pasta, etc and eat carbs in moderation. I do, however, eat my carb last, so I usually only have a very tiny portion since I am full from the Protein and veggies.
  9. Betsy--I nominate you oh fearless leader:biggrin: Karen, the ultimate persuader is V.P!!! lol My wish list is the same on Amazon--my husband says I keep UPS on retainer lol Just to Lauren's hope--thanks for that suggestion on another thread--so something else is going to be shipped! My BB is scheduled to arrive tomorrow--I am like a kid waiting for Christmas:lol: Bobbie--I have the same problem from breakfast--but just never really liked breakfast--I make myself eat breakfast--no skipping even if it is just a protein bar. The only time is do not eat breakfast is when I sleep in, but I still do three meals. Hope everyone is doing good
  10. Welcome Lena-- Bobbie--congrats on the job! Betsy--anxiously waiting on the BB too Karen--I love the dailyplate too, but I just will have to input the staples Leigha--I am a gadget person--so trying to resist an iPad when I just bought a new netbook Anne--hang in there on the pre-op Denise--hoping and praying things get better--I admire your attitude in dealing with it all Okay I know that is not everybody, but I haven't had time to catch up

    Tossing the Scale??

I have to agree with Betsy and Chrisdirects--I weigh daily, but I do not flip over every fluctuation. It helps me to monitor what I eat--when I eat too much sodium and not enough water, I gain, so weighing helps me to cut out somethings and workout!!!

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Doing good--have not had a second fill yet--coming next week--down 36lbs since surgery!
  13. No, I would not consider going back to the pre-op diet. The simple fact is it is not sustainable. I get well-balanced meals--I have learned to change the life-style and mindset about eating. The way I was eating on the pre-op diet was not "normal" so eventually I would have returned to my regular eating habits.

    4th of July Challenge!

Thanks for all the touches to the spreadsheet--I have been sorting it every now and then so names are in alphabetical order. Much to success--love challenges--even if you do not hit the mark, the success is in the trying:thumbup:
  15. I lost 8 1/2 of the 10lbs--I happy with that because I did not get my second fill--I have no restriction, so that 8lbs is all me.

bumping the spreadsheet up for someone to try
  17. I have eyed the BB enough--I just ordered one to Leigha, Betsy, and Karen. I really need an accurate account of my workouts! BTW Betsy--how many times would you have to chew that "filet?" Having pain in my abdomen all day--only got relief from Darvocet, gas medicine, and a pepcid--not sure which one did the trick. What is this pain? Feel like cramps. Fyi--I took milk of magnesia Friday, so I pretty "empty" but I took the maxium dose--too much? Happy Mother's Day to each of you!

    Weighing yourself

Being still is important--does your scale record the weight?--I find trying to look down at the results can skew them--mine records so that I just look at after I weigh.
  21. I had to feel out a lot of surveys--then he talked about all the changes and life adjustments that would come and to be prepared mentally for those changes. You will be fine--they really are not there to get you turned down--it is more for your preparation if anything!
  22. I was a 10lb baby--I told my mother I didn't have a chance at skinny!! I have been overweight since I was child. My being fat is genetic and then the rest was me! My mom is morbidly obese, all of her siblings, and now all of my older sisters are overweight or obese. I was not taught to eat healthy and not encouraged to be active. I only ate three meals a day usually and was not a snacker, but when I did eat, a great deal of it was not the healthiest of choices. I was born in Brooklyn--after my first year after moving to NC, I went to being a chubby kid to just fat--by high school I was obese. In college I began to loose weight, but by my senior year--I had put it back on plus more. I have been yo-yoing ever since and every time I gain, I gained it back double. I decided, before I turned 40, I would no longer be obese and I am on my way with the band!

    Always Cold

Yes, I did--did you get a blood thinner for surgery--I was thnking it is probably a result of it
  24. I won't tell lol, Betsy, if you decide:wink2:. I have knee problems and much heavier than you, so though I am not on the couch, I probably do not need to dust my running shoes off yet--one day
