    I am the one who...

I love this!!! Congrats on your successes...not the bands! You are such an inspiration!
  5. I'm doing good...the only struggle I'm having is with my port incision. It's right below my breat bone, which worked out well for quick healing and getting around, but it's on my bra line. Today was the first day that I could wear a bra all day long without pain. I was allowed mushies late last week and was advanced to regular food on Tuesday with a reminder to chew chew chew! Baked fish tastes so much better when you can chew it yourself! When do you move on to solid food?

  6. Hey! Hope you're doing well!

  7. Hi - I'm doing great! 3 of my incisions are pretty well healed. My port is right below my breast bone and taking a bit longer to heal. Had my pre-op on Tuesday and my dr was happy with me so far. Today was the first day that I really felt like myself! How are you doing?

  8. Hi - I'm doing well. 3 of my incisions are pretty well healed, paying special attention to the 4th. I had my post op appt on Tuesday and am down about 13lbs! The weight loss is not really typical, but I'll take it! I'm finally back on regular food now too! :D Best of wishes to you. The liquid diet is not easy, but is definitely necessary! It'll all be behind you before you knowit!

  9. I took 2 weeks off as well. I could have gone back to work after one, but I had the time to use, and it has been nice getting to stay home and adjust to everything without "life" interfering too much.
  10. My info was forwarded to BCBS on 3/22. I called BCBS on 3/26 to check the status of the approval/denial and was told that they had sent the approval notice to my drs office the previous day. Later that day, my doctors office called to let me know that they had received the notice and that I was approved.
  11. Congrats on your preop weight loss, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  12. Hi -

I'm thrilled about taking 2 weeks off too! I'm doing well, not noticing any change on the scale, but my clothes are fitting differently and I have lost the fat roll that I had on my neck! :D I had bowel issues to, but my mom put so much benefiber in a bottle of water that it was cloudy and I almost had to chew it. It took over 24 hours to work, but I have been regular ever since. This morning I woke up and was not at all hungry. I tried to force something down but it didn't go well, after that I suffered with nausea most of the day. By dinner time I was fine. Who knows what's going on there...one more thing for me to discuss with my dr on Tuesday.

    Death is imminent

Don't give up! There are companies such as carecredit that will allow you to finance the surgery. Is financing an option?

    Memorial Day Challenge Anyone?

My current weight is 248. My goal weight by Memorial Day is 240.

    How many of you.....

I was also banded on 4/19 at 7am. My surgery was outpatient, but I was not discharged until 5pm due to the number of hours post op that my surgeon wanted to wait before doing the barium swallow. I do agree with Banded2010 though. I could get NO rest in the hospital. One lady even work me up to let me know that she was switching out the sharps container! LOL!! I was thrilled to get home and actually have an uninterrupted nap!
  17. I'm 29 and was banded this past Monday 4/19/10!

This is my first check in since surgery on Monday 4/19. Everything went well, and I was able to go home the same day. Other than a nasty bout with gas pain on 4/20, everything has gone smoother than I had expected. Best wishes to those being banded today and in the next few days!

    surgery date

Congratulations on getting a date!
  21. Hey there!

My surgery was very uneventful! I arrived at 6am and was in the surgery holding room by 7. I have no memories of the OR. I am sore around my port site, but so far no real pain and no gas pain. Praise God!! I hope that you have a similarly uneventful surgery day story!

  22. Good luck tomorrow! I wish you a safe surgery and a speedy recovery!
