Thanks for the reminder to look at the big picture. I ate too much at my Festivus celebration last nite and was feeling a little anxious. -
Gotten off Track...please help
delfinajones replied to thnkfl4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry you are going through this.It will get better, trust me. Sometime it helps to help others when you are going through a rough patch. Can you volunteer at a soup kitchen or work for a crisis line? You are in our thoughts. -

You are doing great! I am okay again after a few difficult days when I suddenly was starving. But I upped my protein and that helped. -
Question, not enough calories?
delfinajones replied to walkingfool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm why are you on mushies if you already are having fills? Does it hurt to eat solid food? -
Had surgery friday the 18th of december and im feeling awful
delfinajones replied to ssweettoya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry. I'd call the doctor or whoever is on call---it seems to me most folks are constipated rather than have loose stool. Better to be safe. -

Do what works for you. But if just saying NO worked for most of us we wouldn't need a band. -
I was on clear liquids 2 days then full liquids like yoghurt and soup. You might try some slowly if you are starving. Wouldn't worry that much about PBing--you can handle it.
-
I wouldn't worry about it. But maybe you might want to got to Weight Watchers or some other support group to help with the urge to overeat until you get a good fill.

You probably need another fill and a pep talk from your doctor. Good luck! -

I have the Realize band and at the office they said you need to be at 8.5 to start feeling good restriction. I am at 6.5 at my second fill. I do think NOT gaining is a big deal. Keeping it off is always the big challenge. Insist on a bigger fill next time. -
Let's see. A co-worker gave me a box of fudge which I passed on to a homeless person with a dollar bill, then someone else gave me a basket of cookies- I ate two and then gave the basket to the groundskeeper. I got back to the office and someone gave me a bag of biscotti which I dowsed with old coffee and threw it in the garbage. This is getting ridiculous. No, it would not be easier to say I don't want the gifts. It is a ritual and I must partake.:biggrin::sad::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Cookie exchange madness

I want your phobia! -
Did the doctor tell you why the pouch stretched?Do they have a nutritionist who might be able to spend more time with you? 38 pounds is actually a medium sized dog--that's a lot of weight you got rid of. Don't give up!

How did the weight loss go. Was it slow then fast or a steady pace?

I think I love you from head to toe..

Cookie exchange madness
delfinajones replied to delfinajones's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for understanding. Plus I've been really hungry these past few days and the cookies and fudge are like grenades. I have to get rid of them as soon as possible. My downfall has never been sweets but when I am in a vacuum cleaner mode I would eat cookies ar anything in front of me.So yes, by the end of the day I had to immediately make the sweet uneatable. I hope this subsides. I have another fill coming Jan. 14 and I hope that one gives me good restriction and works on the hunger feeling. But it is funny too. At one point I offered the cookies to one guy but he was taking too long getting to my office so I had to pass them to someone else and make up an excuse why all the cookies were gone. Destroying the food made more sense by the end of the day. -

I had a fill a week ago but the last couple of days I was starving. After reading folks on this board being proactive I called and I got another one today. It only takes a minute--they should be able to acommodate you. -

Does your family know you had the surgery? I only told one sister and a couple of friends so as to avoid answering questions about how it was working. -

I'm sure with the right fill you will be fine- it seems until then many people gain or don't lose. I find attending Weight Watchers helps remind me to eat correctly. Let us know how you do after the fill.Good luck! -
Hmm, where do I start? (sorry so long)
delfinajones replied to sweethinkr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you are on your way. You've opened up to us. Why not get a gastric bypass? Can you pull the money together? You already know you need to address the depression but getting rid of the weight will also effect your state of mind too. Maybe working your band is the solution. But I would listen to your doctor too- maybe he's right and you would do best with a bypass. I also think you need to look for another job with a better boss and with less hours. It may take a while but put it on your to do list. Re. WARCRAFT--it's too soon to give it up. You get a lot out of it right now. But plan with your therapist how to do less of that and more actual mingling with people face to face. As you lose the weight that will probably happen naturally. Good luck with your challenges and just decide which path--the band again or bypass. -
'Dieting' or 'Way of Life'
delfinajones replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like going to Weight Watchers for the support and the weigh in. Wouldn't want to do this on my own. Tho' the other members at my meeting don't have a band we are all trying to get healthy. It's like therapy really.
