A Week Late For My Period Post Surgery And Not Pregnant...suggestions?
honk replied to Char1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk with you doctor but probably just a side affect off surgery. My periods were very messed up for at least 6 months. I asked if it was because of surgery/weight loss and my NP said "you aren't loosing fast enough for that" Gees thanks. Four months out I had 2 periods in one month. -
Hunger Pains Jan 12 Bandster
honk replied to Lhiggin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes the hollow stomach feeling does go away. Drink more water/crystal light/Mio for now. Part of it is you do have an empty stomach. The second part is your brain likes to eat (the whole process of sitting down, CHEWING); so when you have'nt done that in a while it is sending not so suttle reminders. Welcome to head hunger. -
I do not eat the seeds. I eat them raw, down to the stem area and avoid the seeds. Some brands have fewer seeds then others. I buy them at Costco large bag for 4.80.

I meant to add I think a PBJ would be way to many carbs.

For me peanut butter is a no no. I was eating it straight out of the the jar. A lot of it. Personally I don't think salad is a slider. For lunch I bring 3 oz of chicken breast, one piece low fat laughing cow cheese, mini sweet peppers (so cool and no cutting!). If I am going to have baby carrots I include an individual serving container of hummus (super convenient). And fruit (grapes, cherries). I pack the night before so there is no morning rush.

Feeling Extremely Tired And Light Headed From Pre-Op Diet.
honk replied to armymom2012's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I second spreading out your calorie intake so you are eating every few hours. If it makes you feel any better my surgeon wanted me to do 500 calories for several MONTHS per surgery. I made it 5 days. I went on my own diet and lost 50 pounds presurgery. -
Weight Loss Since Surgery
honk replied to scola1994's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The AVERAGE weight loss with the band is 1-2 pounds per week. You are at the high end with 2 pounds per week. While some people on here loose faster there are those of us who are more of 0-1 pound per week (and I stay in the 1000-1200 cal per day and do at least an hour of cardio 7 days a week.) -
Got a nosebleed on the way to a business meeting. Walked into a normal size store at the mall and was able to buy a shirt to buy.

I take fiber, and Vitamin D gummies every day with no problems. I also have chewable multi and Calcium which are kind of like a treat. -
I found that when I stopped eating super salty foods (esp chips, french fries) that I was a lot less thirsty when eating.

Well you may have had low blood suger. Consider if you had about 400 for dinner at 7:00 at night and it is now 6:00 in the morning that is 11 hours. Your body has long ago burned off that 400 calories.

During liquids I added Salt free Chicken flavor spices found in the baking isle. Strain a can of soup and drink the liquids; have someone else eat the solids or through it away. Taste so much better than broth. Also buy stock it tastes better than broth. During full liquids I bought Pacific Brand soups and again added the spice flavoring (add before heating and the teeney tiny garlic flakes reconstitute) . Pacific is sometimes found in the Organic section of the store. During mushies I used a stick blender to mince the fruit in Chobani Greek yoghurt. If it's too thick add fat free milk. I added splendra because fat free greek yoghurt is sour (NOT parmagranite has seeds in it).

I would'nt call myself a soda addict but I did enjoy it and had several diet cokes the day before surgery. As the cheapskate that I am I notice how much I save not buying soda ESP when I'm out. Just think minium of $2 when you order it at a sit down restaurant.

Question About Amount Of Food
honk replied to stockerx2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you can't eat 3 oz of solid protein plus veggies you are too tight. -
I have no problem with shrimp. As for soup I drink all the liquid and then eat the solids.

Do you have a smart phone? If so will it work in Europe? If not perhaps you could rent a phone while you are there or get one of those through a way phones. If you can get access to the internet you can look things up on google to see what they are before you order them.

Sunshyne068, I only have trouble with cheap white bread. I can eat bread but just choose not to as it has lots of calories for little nurition.
-
I would recommend trying a ready to drink protein shake instead of Slim fast. Even the "high protein" slim fast has less protein then a protein shake. Premier brand from Costco are 160 cal for 30 grams of protein. Some on this site recommend Muscle Milk Light. Protein makes you feel full longer so you want more protein and less carbs.
