I was never gold yo wait minute between bites.

Around 30.

I wish life skills and budgeting where required classes. Especially in wealthy towns these Kids have no idea how to live within a budget. Why would they when their parents have huge credit card debt.
-
My mother was a sub teacher for 30 plus years. When she would do leave absence for home etc teachers she would ask to use the "relief" food that the school cafe had in stock. She wanted to teach kids, who had this food at home, how to cook healthy meals with those ingredients. The principle however insisted she buy name brand food. Shaking head.

I recently did the 5 day pouch test and I feel Much tighter!
-
If you can't swallow liquids you are too tight!
-
I am at restriction and can drink pretty fast. Depends on how you define "chugging". Also if the water is really cold you can feel it collecting in the pouch and pouring into your empty stomach. Which can give you cramps.

Agreed, for now this is a diet. Bring able to eat more than 3 oz of protein and some low cal veggies doesn't mean you should. If you don't measure protein you will eat too much. And that 3 oz by weight not volume. Took me more than 6 months to get restriction.

Low Calorie intake Is it healthy??
honk replied to Creekwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor has never stressed cals. More concerned with Protein and low cal/carb veggie consumption. That said he has a 500 cal liquid pre op that he has larger patients do for MONTHS preop. His nurse practitioners and nutritionist don't like that program however. I do take general vit., Calcium, vit D, and Iron. Keep in mind thin people eat low cals and no one worries about malnutrition. -
First fill, different tack

Well realistically most doctors say you can loose 1-2 pounds a week so 15 a month would be on the high side. -

Well I was still on liquids at day 10 so hard for me to say. As you heal you will be able to eat more than you could right after surgery.

If you can't eat 3 oz solidvprotein you are to tight. Talk with your doctor about a small unfill.

Does anyone have huge fluid in their band
honk replied to seeme1954's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes I would say I am in the green zone. I also have an appointment with an oncologist tomorrow to see if there's a reason why I'm not losing more weight. I eat less than 1200 calories a day and exercise an hour 7 days a week and I am in a major stall. -
Sooo hungry and only 5 days after surgery
honk replied to Oxgirl2470's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would look for protein shakes that have higher levels of protein. Some have only 10 grams of protein whereas others have 25. -

I think I have to disagree about you being in the green zone. I'm in the green zone and after 5 or 6 hours I get hungry. I'm wondering if maybe you're sick have a mild case of the flu. Even though I've had the flu shot I think I had a mild case about a month ago and I didn't eat for like a week. I wasn't vomiting or anything like that but I just wasn't hungry. Yes being in the green zone means you're not hungry between meals but if you go long enough you do get hungry for a meal. -
First day of full liquid diet
honk replied to cksweetpea's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please be careful of herbal tea preop. My hospital had a huge sign in the anesthesia dept saying not to take vitamins or natural remedies 2 weeks before surgery. They can affect the meds the give during surgery. -
My family has genetically bad cholesterol. Despite having lost 170 pounds I had to go on a statin. I eat a very low fat low cholesterol diet and exercise 7 days a week.

I LOVE PEANUTBUTTER - WHAT IS YOUR WEAKNESS?
honk replied to bethcav's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would be really careful with peanut butter. Early in my journey I used to eat a lot of peanut butter thinking that it was a mushy protein. This was of course an excuse to eat peanut butter. I do have PB 2 but it doesn't have the salt sugar and fat that I like in Peanut butter. I no longer keep it in my house because I will eat it by the spoonful. -
I would recommend liquids to 24 hours. Eating solids may irritated your pouch.
