I have never been diabetic. If my blood sugar drops I can get dizzy. Since I've lost weight it has happened less. I know my dad used to have low blood sugar . My sister's (always been thin) boyfried keeps candied ginger in his car because when her blood sugar drops she has to eat NOW.

Until you get restriction this will be a will power diet. Did the concept that this was the LAST time I would have to loose weight help; YES. My doctor required meetings with a psychologist to discuss my food/eating issues. These appointments really really helped me understand why I overate. I highly recommend meeting with a therapist even if your surgeon doesn't require it. I had 3 appointments so I'm not suggesting an ongoing basis. From mushies on I was told to measure all my Protein. I bought a very nice digital food scale from Weight Watchers. Don't buy it online, huge mark up. Find a WW meeting and just buy the scale. I was nervous to do that but no one said a word. I was after all spending money. Once you hit restriction the band helps you eat a meal and not feel hungry for 4-5 hours. If I go 8 hours I do get hungry but that's a long time. At restriction a couple hours after lunch; if you see Cookies at the coffee station you ask yourself "Am I hungry enough to eat that?". Usually the food does not look that interesting. Common store bought cookies just worth it.

Muscle Milk Light is a better choice because the regular is really high in cals and fat. Premier Ready to drink is a good choice (available at Costco) 160 cal and 30 g of protein.

I did not get restriction until 10.6 cc in a 11 cc band. This is a will power diet until you get restriction. If you have not yet done so; buy a digital food scale. Weight out your protein, my doctor says 3 oz of protein. -
I have only had problems with cheap white bread. The kind you get in free rolls at restaurants.

I don't think a hernia is considered a mobidity; because I don't think it can kill you. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, diabetis etc. -
As mentioned previously without knowing what you are eating it's hard to provide suggestions. I know post op I got in a very very bad habit of eating honey roasted Peanut Butter. It's a mushie and Protein right? Ummmm No. I have to recycle and when I was noticed I was eating a jar of it a week ( I live alone) I realized I had to stop! Clearly I was'nt stopping at 2 Tablespoons. I did not get restriction until 10.6 ccs in a 11 CC band. This is a will power diet until you get restriction. Do you have a digital food scale? I am 16 months out and still weigh out 3 oz of protein lunch and dinner.

Biotin 5,000 mg available in tick tack sized capsules. Look around you can usually find a store selling two bottles for the price off one.

You should be fine as long as you take acetaminophen based medicine (Tylenol is the name brand). You can find it however in cheaper store brands. Stay away from ibuprofen (Advil) products. Speak to the pharmacist if you are unsure; that's why they are there. I also woke up this morning with a runny nose and sore throat. I have two interviews today urrgggg.

Have you husband call the 401 company and ask if the money has been released. -
My doctor never gave me food limits based on cups. You need to eat 3 oz of solid protein per meal. That is probably at least 1/2 cup. Buy a good digital food scale. Measure out the protein and then eat low fat/cal veggies until full. Limit carbs like potato or bread. My doctor does allow me to have fruit.

Do I Have To Get Of Birthcontrol Before Having Surgery?
honk replied to schnickyp's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Please speak with you surgeon ASAP. Medication can affect how your body reacts to surgery; so you need to find out if/when you should stop taking BC before surgery. I had a blood clot presurgery (no previous history of bloodclots) that led to a stroke. Bloodclots are no Joke! -

Eating 2 Weeks After Lapband Surgery
honk replied to wildolphins811's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you 7 days out of surgery or 15? At 7 days out I was allowed to eat full liquids like tomato soup. I was not allowed really smooth mushies like yogurt until day 15. I could not have even smooth mashed potato until day 21. If your doctor has not released you to mushies than I would say you should hold off on mushies like mashed potato or squash for now. -

I paid $25 for a digital scale from WE and you can also type in the food name and it will tell you the calories in that portion.
-
Weight watchers food scale is excellent. Do Not buy on Amazon! Marked up 100%! Find WW meeting and just buy the scale. That's what I did

How Does It Feel When You Are Actually Full After Getting Satisfying Fill?
honk replied to Yolanda Swing-banks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not get restriction until 10.6 cc in 11 cc band. I agree it's more about feeling satisfied and not being motivated to continue to eat. It is not the stuffed feeling you used to get when you over ate. I feel you know the band is starting to work when 2-3 hours after lunch you walk by the coffee center at work and don't have the desire to eat the cookies your coworker brought in. -
Omg, Don't Like The Shakes, I'm Sooooo Hungry!!!
honk replied to SashaWLS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally hated Isopure. If you have access to Costco Premier Ready to drink is very good 160 cal for 30 g protein. You might want to consider watering down the muscle milk if you find it too thick. -

You can also buy it from the manufacturer: http://bellplantation.com/ The shipping is expensive so it's worth it to buy more bottles and keep it in the pantry. It is sealed and lasts a long time. -
I highly recommend water proof MP3 player. Check them out on Amazon SOOOO Worth it.

Time Off Work After The Surgery.-True Results Gave Me False Information.
honk replied to Boniluuu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No way I would wait until June. As I said most companies would be truley happy if employees worked 23 hours a day and could be recharged like a cell phone for the remaining hour. Is someone elses vacation more important than your health? I don't think so. I know I'm a bit cynical but after being a perma temp for 2 years after being laid off; that's just the way it is.
