Well I would say your silver lining is doctor will do it as a laproscopic surgery. When I was a freshman in college I lost 100 pounds and ended up having have gallbladder surgery and it was regular open surgery so I have to see about a 4 inch scar from it. Also as long as you're allowed solid foods this is just a very low fat diet. In order to have surgery during spring break I ended up having to wait about 3 and a half months before I can have my gallbladder out. And I was eating at college cafeteria

My doctor never said not to take the multivitamin and calcium together. 1 thing to remember however is you can't take iron and calcium together because the iron prevents the body from absorbing calcium. I take my iron pill early in the morning and then the rest of my vitamins later in the day.

Wwyd? Eat Shortly After Waking Or Wait Until Mid Morning (Hungry)?
honk replied to indacrucible's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The nutritionist may have been referring to the fact that low fat foods are often higher in sugar. So people end up eating more something because they figure it's low in fat but actually has more calories than they counted on. -
Sounds like a lot of you are too tight. I've had about 3 stuck episodes in 2.5 yrs.

800 seems on the low side to me. My breakfast is 350.

honk replied to YankeeChick75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I waited about 3 months to get my gallbladder out (spring break). I agree cut out all fats and I mean all. -
Why aren't you eating solid foods for breakfast? Or at least mushies like Greek yogurt or oatmeal. Protein shakes are a slider, I would be hungry 5 min. Later and I'm at restriction. Also for me salad is a slider food. Are you eating 3 oz. Solid protein Lunch and dinner?

I Hate Protein Shakes-Frustrated
honk replied to Joy1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why does she want you drinking cals. at all? You should get cals from solid food. I do have some days a Premier shake as pre workout snack.(I often have 8 hours between lunch and dinner). -
Your doctor may require a weight lids before they will schedule surgery. One to make the surgery easier for the doctor, 2 test your commitment. Mine was 10% body weight. Again this is a life commitment. Don't see surgery as the end of the road. This is the time too develop a new relationship with food.
-
Call your insurance company and ask them if your policy covers the surgery and if so what the qualifications are. I wouldn't bother going to the doctors until I knew whether it would be covered. Unless you can afford to be CashPay

Totally a sales pitch! Personally I wouldn't go to a doctor that I had to buy items from them. Big enough money from the insurance company without milking me for extra profit.

Have To Have Gallbladder Surgery Next Week-Scared!
honk replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm surprised a doctor would say gallbladder surgery was worse than lap band. And that's from someone who had the surgery 25 years ago before it was laproscopic. And with the gallbladder surgery you won't have to do the whole liquid to mushy to solid business. -
