    Manitoba anyone?

Hello Everyone, Merry Christmas and most of all Happy New Year! I was banded on December 8th. Things have gone very well so far! The holiday has gone well and I'm sitting about 25lbs down since my original start (before the diet). I have found my portions to be much smaller than before and I have been lucky not have to have a throw up issue..but a couple of times I felt like I was close! I am now paying more attention to my body "are you satisfied?" "Sure am, don't stuff anymore in here or you'll see it all again!" LOL! Anyway all the best to everyone!! Take care, Sarah

Hello Everyone, I was in at 1pm for my surgery, everything went well. I was pretty "dopey" afterwards. I was pretty sore last night and didn't have much of a sleep. There has also been a big meltdown at my work so that kept my mind busy... Today I feel a bit better, still tender. Just takin a T3's every 4hrs. I'm excited for this new journey. My first drink (after some Water last night of course) was Apple juice and did it ever taste good! The only way i could describe to my family as to how I was feeling was that I felt like I had got winded. I was tender and sore but it was like I got punched in the stomach..such a weird sensation!! LOL! I lost 17lbs on the optitrim. So the Dr's were positive when I spoke with them before hand. One thing I found strange was when I changed into my gown the receptionist said to me that i could go back out into the waiting room if I liked...there were several people in the waiting area and there was no way I felt comfortable wandering around in my gowns! LOL! Anyway I was hope by 4:30 and then just rested up all evening plus today. I'm feeling good today. Just a bit sore and a scratchy voice. Boomboy I hope all goes well for you, glad to hear your pain isn't too bad! I just feel like I'm covered in bruises! I have a huge bruise in my left shoulder as well as lots of little bruises from when they test the blood pressure. But as my husband says I bruise like a peach! Thanks again for answering all my questions also. I greatly appreciate it!

I've to be there at 10:45am, I think I'm scheduled for 1pm. The girl didn't phone me today, but we discussed it last week, I am just hoping I'm doing what I'm supposed to. She said something about having a Zantac 150 before I go to bed and then one in the morning? That sound right??

    Manitoba anyone?

Hi everyone! Well I'm heading into week two (and my final week might I add) of the pre-op diet! Yay! The dietician had mentioned to me that someone else mixed strawberry crystal light with their shake...so this past weekend I felt like what the heck I'll give it a go! Well let me report that I really ENJOYED my shake with it! It was like strawberry/chocolate smoothie. I added a bit more Water than it requires (roughly an extra 150-200mls) to reduce a bit of the sweetness (I find the crystal lights to be a bit too sweet with just 250mls). It was really enjoyable. Today I mixed mine with a raspberry one it was really nice too! I have lost 8lbs so far. Fingers crossed for that liver to shrink shrink shrink!! I am excited for the surgery, but just a question for anyone who has already been through it...is the port area visable or is it obvious to the touch? I don't think I'd asked anyone this, and who better to ask but the veteran bansters!

Thanks for the tip. I don't have my time yet either! I definitely think the shakes taste better than they smell! Its been quite an adjustment, I hopped on the scale and noticed I'm down almost 5lbs since Tuesday. Anyway see you around!

Hello Everyone, I'm brand new here. Danielle just told me about this forum yesterday! I love the fact there is a group here where everyone understands what your going through! So far 3 days in on the pre-op diet...WOW...I think my energy crashes shortly after work! But I'll be happy once its over and I can have something other than the shakes/bars yuck! Anyway my surgery is Dec 8. And I'm looking forward to it! All the best everyone!
