Thanks Pam the gas trapped in my body is much better today. I had the chiropractor adjust my neck only and WOW what relief. Here's my question....Everytime I swallow anything I become like an old woman belching not burping but belching. Most times it comes out easy and it always feels better after. I feel fine and am not nauseated or anything and tylenol is all I'm using for pain so I am assuming I'm ok!! Thinking I should change my name on here to BurpGirl:D

Ok the 3rd day for me is all about gas release from both ends of the spectrum!! Oh well I'm done and it went pretty good. Today I even went to a 3 hour teacher meeting. It was very small group and very informal and the facilitator knew I was recovering and was very nice to just say I had surgery. She steered the conversation away from what it was for to how well I looked and how was I doing etc..... That was really great. It just wasn't the place to share the what was it. Anyway my surgery went fine my doc said with no complications. The staff at the hospital were so enthusiastic about my having the surgery and the patient liason for the hospital had lapband done back in july. He come by right before I went in and was very encouraging. He also went out and spoke to DH and told him I was doing fine. All in all the hospital part was a good experience. I don't know if anyone else has had this but my dr put in place something called a pain relief ball. It was a constant application of pain medication delivered under the skin by a smal cathater. The little ball with the medication in it had it's own little purse like carry bag. And get this my dr said you can just take it out yourself on day 3!!! So my oldest daughter did it for me today. It was quite easy. I do think it helped because I really didn't take a lot of pain med the first two days. Well It's done and today I got to have some Soup with no chunks and thinned malt o meal. Along with the Clear Liquids. Feeling pretty good just the port area still stings like I did to many sit ups but other than all the burping etc. I feel pretty good. When do the gas pains in your rib area stop? Thanks for listening.

Me Me Me!!! I know it's almost here!!! I'm feeling a little nervous about "this better work"....a friend who I told today said "I am so happy for you. This is going to work. You have tried so hard and dieted so much I just know this will help you do it." I was stunned at such support but my friend is like that. So I send her statement out to all of us!! We have tried and with this tool we will succeed. Now I really gota get off this and do my homework....for some crazy reason I decided grad school was a good idea a few years back....but I am on the down hill side and will graduate next fall:fruitsex: Yea Me!!!! Hang in there everybody and have a great day tomorrow.
-
I love that I need a tool!!! Thank you for sharing that I have been trying to figure out what to say to a few nay sayers who will certainly want to put their two cents worth in when I return to work. I teach and sometimes teachers mean well:rolleyes: but don't know when to respect a persons personal space and decisions. And I know in one month we will be talking about how's it going in Bandland!! it's coming up quick....I go for my pre-op test at my surgery center on this Thursday!!:biggrin1:
-
Yea TammyJ You are doing great!! My surgery is next monday and frankly I'm looking forward to the time away from work. I need a break even if it's to recoop from surgery:D

Hey Sue I love that age 2 and 3!!! I love teaching kindergarten even on the worst of days!! I am taking a week off before our week off for spring break so basically two weeks. I really think that will be enough!!! The no nail polish is for the anesthsioligist (sp?) they use the nail bed to keep an eye on how much oxygen you are getting, like a back up...I could be wrong but pretty sure it is something like that. Weather here in Texas is warm and sunny today too hope it stays that way for awhile.:clap2:
-
Good luck tomorrow and just so you don't feel lonely my period is suposed to come on the day before mine too!!!:omg: Try to sleep good tonight knowing you making a positive step for yourself and your health. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow while I'm taming my kindergarten class!!! Prayers and positive thoughts coming to you from Texas!!
-
Heartsmile I'm March 5th too in Fort Worth Texas!!!! :clap2: :clap2:

Scarlett I am a binge eater too!!! My doc said it does help another reason why I decided this will work for me!!!:clap2: :clap2:
-
I asked my doc basiclly the same stuff "why will this work when nothing else has?" He said this makes it so you hit a little bump in the rode on your wieght journey instead of falling off the cart and it backs over you. Thats why I'm doing it!!! I will make my mistakes little enough I can keep myself going!
-
you are wonderful....Thanks for making me laugh:D :clap2: thickchickTX:D
