I am so frustrated. I was banded in early November and have lost approximately 50 pounds. I have been at this point for about 6 weeks now. I am exercising vigourously 5-6 times a week and am eating good. I had to have an unfil of .5 cc's about 34 weeks ago due to being too tight. I don't know what else to do. Any advice.

He is great. He is so motivational and helpful. He is also so easy to talk to and easy to work with. Really looking forward to the next 6 weeks. I know too that all of this stuff is expensive. My husband told me the other day that I was going to bankrupt us( lovingly though) and I said well at least I would be healthy and bankrupt. He really is supportive it is just so darn expensive to do everything related to getting healthy, but I put my self here so gotta get myself out. I feel your pain financially, but stick with it.

Well, it hasn't been easy, but I am finally at 50 pounds. Anyone who thinks this might be the easy way out better think again. It is worth it, but very hard. I am working out 5 days a week and have now signed up for a boot camp with season 4 biggest loser contestant David Griffin. Last night was my first night and was just assessments, but I think it is going to get me over my hump. wish me luck. Good luck to all.

O.K I haven't posted in a while because everything was going pretty good. Today I have feelings I haven't had since I started this process. I am 46 pounds down after having surgery mid November and feel like I have done fairly well with all the changes, but today I just had the feeling like what have I done. I feel like I can't eat anything I want. Mentally, I still want to eat, but I just can't like I used to. I thought I would feel like this before now. I just want to cry. I feel really tight after my last fill, putting me at 5.5 cc's. I have a constant feeling like I have a pulled muscle in my left side. I don't know I just feel like screaming. I am only about half way and don't want to get discouraged now. I just needed to vent. Has anyone else felt this way?:Banane20:

Well ladies or gents, I am in the same boat. I have even hired a personal trainer. I have been at the same weight for about 4 weeks, until today. I finally lost a pound. I can't figure it out and neither can my trainer. Just keep at it. I know I feel great. It should eventually come off. We sure are working our butt off for this. I wish I was being literal. LOL

Well, since my last fill of 1 more cc(5 cc's total) I seem to have more trouble eating. This in turn has me eating things I am not supposed to. Meats do not seem to go down, but all the things bad for you go down much better. I am trying to mentally tell me eat the right things, but they just have trouble going down. Even soft eggs and sometimes even protein shakes have trouble. Ice cream, puddings reeses peanut butter cups- no trouble. Am I too tight or what.

Well, I thought I was doing really well not getting sick. I got my 3rd fill this past Thursday and now I am up to 5 cc's. I followed the post couple day after fill requirements, but tonight I had a little chicken. Well, not good. It came back up. It was the worst feeling in the world. First it just felt like I couldn't breath and like, well it was stuck. I have had that feeling before, but walking around usually helps. Not this time. Was it the chicken? Now my upper abdomen hurts. Is this normal?

O.K I have done really well until the last couple of day this holiday season. Don't get me wrong, I am still eating a tremendous amount less than what I used to. I haven't felt sick the couple of times I overate, but I had some pain and discomfort. Is this normal? Also, I am 6.5 weeks post op and everytime I lay on my left side I feel like I am lying on a lump of something. I never had this feeling before. Does anyone else feel this when they are lying on their left side? Hope everyone had a great Christmas and hope everyone has a safe New Year.

things seem to be getting stuck

I can eat things like scrambled eggs, soft steamed veggies and I have been eating things like mashed potatoes( little amounts) because I can't seem to eat meat. I have tried shrimp, very tender roast, ham, etc. The meat is a big problem. -
I had my second fill last Thursday(7 days ago). My 2 liquid days were fine and the next couple of days were fine, but now most things seem to have trouble going down. So much that I am drinking mostly protein drinks and stuff I know is fairly soft. On my first fill I had no problems. Is this normal? If it is soft I havel very little problem. I still get full fast, but at least it goes down. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

I am 5 weeks post op and i just got my second fill. This seems a little fast to me, but my doc said get you butt isn here if you can eat more than a cup and can not go 4 hours between meals. Well, I have wanted to eat everything in site and everything goes down just fine. So now I am up to 4 cc's. Just wondering how many cc's everyone else has and when they started to really feel restriciton. I h ave a 10 cc band. Have a great Christmas everyone.

Hang in there. Remember this is as much of an emotional journey as it is a food one. This is a really hard time of year to attempt this task, but if we had waited we would be even heavier. You can do this. Just remember 15 pounds is more than you would have lost without the band. Good luck. Way to go. You're down 15 pounds.

Question about Diet/Overeating
mnsmith replied to Twinharps's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all. My surgeon and dietician obviously want me to make healthy choices and I have been, but they also said they want me to eat real food and what I want because I will not be eating large amounts and if I cut out everything I will eventually binge. I have cut out carbonated beverages and almost all breads, but if I want a small cookie or sweet I have it. Hope this helps. You gotta remember we were all probably eating a tremendous amount of calories before we started on this journey. Good luck.
