Hi Linda, that is my main reason for having the surgery done is to have more energy for my son. Right now I feel so terrible because I get so winded just picking him up and carrrying him for 5 minutes.

WOW! It is so amazing to see eveyones tickers on their weightloss and I CAN NOT wait to get my results. To even be 20 lbs lighter will allow me to feel so much better. I am concerned about loose skin but I shouldnt think about that now, I do not want to stress over something of the future. Thank you for everyones post... I was so suprised to get the call so quickly! I am fortunate because I know alot of people have to fight their insurance companies. Does anyone have any advise on what I should start getting pre-op such as vitamins or protein shakes?

Hi everyone, I think I have decided to go with the Sleeve as my surgery choice. I am totally stressing over my decision and have been on other forum sights that havent really given me any support. First off I am looking to make friends to help me on my journey so I will have a place to come to for support. I had my first consult Dec 17th received my insurance approval Dec 21 and my psych eval is Jan 7. After that I will have a date of surgery. I am so scared and my mind just wont stop thinking about all the possibilities. I am looking forward to getting to know people on this forum and I hope that I found my place of peace. mnkysproudwife, some people only have regular tricare or tricare standard. If that is the case they have to pay a percentage of the medical bills along with some copays. With Tricare Standard you do not have to have a referral to go to specialists or have surgeries. With Tricare Prime everything is covered as long as you meet the insurance requirements. For example the requirements for Tricare prime patients to have the surgery fully covered is being over 40 BMI or 35-40 BMI with comorbitities.

Im so glad to hear others have not had difficulty with Tricare. I too have Tricare prime but I meet all the requirements. I have my consultation Dec 17 and then have to do the evaluation, the surgeon said my surgery will be sometime in February. I am new to all of this and I am hoping for a better me in the long run!

:blushing:I have been contimplating weight loss surgery for about a year now. I was set on having the gastric bypass until I heard all the horror stories of having the loose skin and having to have another expensive surgery for the removal of that skin. I was told to consider lapband because the weight loss is less dramatic. I do not have any kind of support group besides my own mother but some of you may know that hearing your mother tell you that she doesnt approve only makes matters worse. So here I am reaching out to people I do not know, but I hope to be able to start friendships and start my own support group on here. I have my consultation with the surgeon in December and then an evaluation and they said my surgery will be in February. So I need some advice, help, or just people to talk me through this so I can better my health. XOXOXO Jess
