  3. Hi, Kirsten! Congratulations on your Decision to get Banded! I plan to follow you in the very near future. My Information Seminar is January 14th, at Emory Bariatic Center in Atlanta. It's required by them you attended their information Seminar before you have an consult but I already know I want a Lapband for sure. lol. Definetely done by the Emory Center. I can't wait!!! How long did you have to wait after you decided to get a lapband?

Your son is just so cute. He gives me baby fever. My 15 year old wouldn't be happy to hear that, though. She doesn't want anymore babies in our house. Her 6 year old brother is enough for her. lol.

Looking forward to going on this journey with you, Take care, and talk to you soon, Holly

  4. Hi all! I was so happy to find this site and these forums today!! So many helpful things to read and such kind words from so many to others on the site! I was banded last Tuesday, November 17th. I am so very ready to be done with the clear liquid diet tomorrow and ready to move forward with feeling like a new and better me!! I am a 33-year-old female who has had a lifelong struggle with my weight. I got married just over two years ago to an absolutely wonderful man and we have (I think) the best ever and cutest 19-month-old son! My husband is a career marine and that career recently moved us to the middle of nowhere southern GA. The stress of the move and starting over in such a foreign place for me brought on even more weight and more depression stemming from that gain. One very positive thing that came from the move though is that I found out our insurance covered this surgery 100% AND they are very quick with their approvals (I believe the approval came in less than 2 days from the time the surgeon sent it in). It's something I had thought about doing and researched for quite some time and am so happy to have the surgery completed! Right now though, I think I am at my absolute lowest energy level ever. The whole only clear liquid diet this first week has been challenging, for sure! I find it interesting how different surgeons have so many different strategies for eating post-surgery...I will still be on a liquid diet next week and then pureed foods for 2 weeks following that. Gosh, what I wouldn't do for a little baby food right now to fill me up! I am so looking forward to feeling good and being happy with the person I see looking back at me in the mirror. I look forward to being able to run and play with my son as much as he wants and being a better and happier wife to my husband. I will appreciate any and all encouraging words and suggestions I can get on this site and am excited to meet others going through this at the same time! Kirsten
