I've only been overweight/obese for about 6 years, so getting the lapband surgery was not one of the first things I thought of. I only considered it after dieting and weight watchers had failed- I have severe medical issues that are related to my weight. I haven't lost all the weight I want to, but I've gone from "obese" "overweight" in just a couple of months. I had an approval through my insurance because of a hiatal hernia repair, and I did the lapband cost out of pocket, so it only ran me about 5500, which includes all of the aftercare and office visits (Fluid fills, testing, etc.)I was on the low-end range of obesity- I was just a 30 bmi, but I was accepted as a candidate because of all of my health issues.(Arthritis, hernia, sleep apnea, gerd)
I definitely look forward to seeing my results in the next few months- it is very exciting!
