The only thing I would like to warn you about is the gum...I too was a big gum chewer but most dr's will frown about chewing gum. You do not ever want to swallow it...that would not be good. Just the thought of getting gum stuck..I broke that habit fast!

I have ordered off of bariaticeating.com I got the smoothie drinks (chocolate)...very good! and I got the mmm Mrs K's cereral (individual bags..easy for work/measuring)? it is very good as well. I thought the same as you..it seemed a little pricey but I was quite pleased.

AWESOME job!!! Yeah my first question was where did all your friends go..then I read the threads!! What a shame!! I have about 50-60 pictures up in my cube...wherever there is metal and a magnet can stick..there is a picture...my management thought it was great..especially whey I said that I am hear 10-12 hours a day so I needed to bring my family with me. Of course all of these pictures are not family style portraits..I have a 2 yr old...anyway. What an awesome job on your weight loss and even if you can't tell..we all can!! You are also a huge motivator with your entries and blogs!

I agree..sushi...ewww!! I think you are fine! I am a PJ person..so yeah for the PJ's! I still can't seem to get rid of a couple pairs that are falling off of me right now!! After surgery you want to be comfortable!

it will all be worth it in the long run!! :frown: I am allergic to caffiene (19 years now)...and I haven't had alcohol in 3 years or so (I had a stroke and the meds I take messes with carbonation in all liqiuds...so even before being banded all carbonation was flat..flat beer..yuk!) Milk you will get in a little while...no sugar..think of the weight you have lost!! As I said it will all be worth it in the long run. My diet was the same...only I had already been on it due to other reasons!! You might want to ask your dr if you can have B12 vitamins (over the counter)..they melt in your mouth...they will give you an energy boost.

I am in the process of submitting my to the insurance company as well. Got my fingers crossed! They haven't denied it yet! My dr told me that he has seen others get reimbursed..for the hospital charges, anes, lab work..just not his fee. I'll take any reimbursement they will give me!!! Anything is better than nothing..not to be greedy!

Hello! I would love to be a friend and help you along! I am in the Seminole area. I was banded 11/23/9 and have lost 50 lbs as of this morning (my tickler is not updated). My husband and my parents are supportive. At first my parents not so much but now they can see how little problems I have I had and how great I have done. I still have about 75 lbs to go. I do attend a support group that is associated with Morton Plant Hospital as well as I am on this sight all the time. It is the best thing I have ever done and it is not easy!!

I have had to have a wound packed..my belly button ruptured--nothing to do with the band (actually prior to getting banded). The packing isn't fun..mine lasted 8 weeks--everyday. I would be torn as to what I would have done or request. Can the Dr guestimate how much longer it is going to take to close up your wound? That is pretty traumatic to the body. If it is only a couple of weeks, I would just wait and then request a fill. Once the wound is closed you will get a fill and then you will be on your way, this is just a minor speedbump.

yeah when I had the reaction to the tape mine looked the same way..the redness and the same shape of the tape. I got blisters on mine as well.

I actually am allergic to the tape..mine was very bright red, blisters and itched like crazy. I was told to wash gently with Dial soap but do show it to your doctor.

Dean123 I saw in a blog that I was reading that someones NUT suggested that they fill thier glass full of ice and when it melts then they can drink it. This would help them break the habit of having to have something to drink with thier meal and you will have an ice cold glass of water to drink. I thought it was a good idea. I just take don't make a drink for me..but I do think of one..but then by the time I have cleared the table and washed the dishes I have forgot about the drink.

I ended up fighting Blue Cross for 2 1/2 years for the surgery...lost and self paid for the surgery. 15K is well worth my life! You can always submit you claim afterwards and they can reconsider reimbursing you...they have reimbursed me on some of my labs so far and are considering some of the others I have submitted so far!! You never know! My surgeon told me that one client got all of his bills reimbursed except the surgeons..so as the others have said..our lives are worth it!!

For me all is great! I am loving the band! I had my first fill on 12/21 and scheduled for the 2nd fill on 1/25. I haven't had any problems to date. I read the blogs daily for words of encouragement and use the following website for some awesome recipes... I just type in high protein, low carb and look thru the ones that sound good to me. So far I only found one that it just took too long for me to fool with but the others...awesome!!! It has the complete breakdown of items. It is pretty cool. www.recipezaar.com

I have Blue Cross of Alabama and they do not pay for LAP-BAND® at all..not the surgery or the fills. I am completely self pay!!!

I love my Sketcher Shape Ups as well! Just bought my hubby and my mom some for Xmas.

I use Myoplex carb sense..it comes in Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla. It has 25 grams of protein. It also comes in Myoplex Lite which has 20 grams of protein.

Well I was banded on the 23rd..the first couple of days were a little rough with pain but nothing else...no gas, no nausea or anything else. I am already able to sleep on my stomach which is a huge relief!! I am on liquids for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks pureed and finally 2 weeks of solids food. As others have mentioned I am so happy I have found this website/blogs. I believe that we all can help one another!! :Yawn:
