    100lbs down in 5 months!

I had surgery about the same time Oct 30, and I have lost 45 lbs. Can you share what you eat daily and what type of exercise you do and how often? I also need to lose the same as you. I felt so heavy that even walking has been hard for me. I know exercise is now going to be the key for more loss. Linda in Wa

    Fills and doctor drama...

My Dr's nurse does the fills under a floroscope (sp) After the fill I swallow barium and they watch the flow to make sure it's restricted but not too much. They find the port first with the scope and mark my belly before sticking with the needle too. Linda

    Why are YOU Fat?

I also was told I was fat when I weighed 113 lbs in Jr High. I too use food as my drug of choice. I have an addictive personality. My family history is full of alcoholics. I eat for all emotions I have. I am thankful for this band. It's helping me get that all under control. I will be victorious. Linda in WA Banded 10/30/09

    I've been loving these salads!!!

Excellent job! Wow 112 lbs. Amazing. I cant wait. I am at 1 1/2 months banded. Can you share some of your food choices to have such a great loss? Taco salad would be my fav. No chips just salsa cheese and sour cream. Ground hamburger meat seasoned. No Beans. Linda
  5. Everybody is different. I needed 6 days including surgery day. I am older and have diabetes and it took the wind out of my sails. Luckily I have a desk job. My surgery was on Friday and I took the following work week off so that gave me 2 weekends to add to the recovery. 10 days total. I was very tired the 1st week back and would of enjoyed 1/2 days but that wasnt possible. Linda

    can I drink sugar-free cocoa

I have a SF cocoa in my coffee. It's pretty tasty. Just mix it up well so you dont have clumps. Linda
  7. Some days I need a snack. I have diabetes and on insulin. When my blood sugar is too low I chose a high Protein snack or a small portion of fruit. I will have dried fruit or fresh berries. I also like pecans or cashews. Linda in WA

  9. That is so cool. I am happy for you. Mine wont move sometimes for over a week at a time, then boom 2 to 3 lbs goes. It's crazy. Linda
  10. I felt stalled after my post op visit. Lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks. My head messes with me. I should of been overjoyed at 5 lbs but my head was telling me it's not working. I wanted more I guess. Reality is I would of gained if I didnt have my band and 5 lbs lost is AWESOME. Before the scale moved this week I could tell my body was different in my clothes. The way I sat on the couch. My belly was not as fat. I sat more "normally". I had a lap. I was in size 3 X pants at surgery now they are baggy. I put on pants I couldnt even pull up before surgery this week. My tshirts are baggy. I feel better. I just have to get over on my mind. I am having success I have lost 27 lbs in 1 1/2 month with the pre op diet and banding. How cool is that?? Now with my first fill I even feel more impowered. Linda

    Low carb BBQ sause

I low carb due to diabetes. I love salsa and sour cream and I have purchased a low carb BBQ sauce online. I also have a low carb cook book with over 500 recipes in it. I recommend it. It's by Dana Carpenter. Linda

    Why can I eat?

I would follow your doctors recommendations. Mine had me on liquid for 1 week. Weeks 2 and 3 were anything pureed. I stuck to it. I am now at one month and have eaten regular foods, slow and easy, chicken and shrimp, green beans. Lots of soups still and protein shakes. I am with the previous poster. Why go through the pain if we arent going to change how we eat food? My surgery was painful. I am also a self pay. That's a lot of money to not follow the diet plan of not eating wrong foods. If your doctor said you can have potato on week one then ok but I would get out your papers and follow what they say. Wishing you success!! Linda
