Hi Everyone, I just got off the phone with my Dr's office. My paperwork was submitted to Aetna on 11/17/09 and it was APPROVED today. I was shocked that it was only 8 days to get the approval!!!! I'm really excited... my surgery will be on 12/17/09. I have to start my pre-op diet on 12/03/09. Just curious... is anyone else planning a "Last Supper" before they have to start their diet? I'm thinking of putting together a "bucket list" of a few things. Am I crazy to do that? Good luck to everyone in December! :thumbup:

Hi Everyone, I'm scheduled to have my lap band surgery on 12/17/09. I had an upper G.I. done today and fortunately everything is fine. I had the procedure done at the same surgery center where my lap band surgery will be. I have Aetna insurance and have done everything they have required so hopefully they will approve the paperwork which was submitted on 11/17/09. My wife will has tentatively scheduled her lap band surgery for 01/14/09. Are there any other husband and wife teams out there? Happy Holidays to all of us and here's to a wonderful 2010!

Hi Everyone, I am new to the board. My name is Paul and I'm from Phoenix. My paperwork to Aetna was sent on 11/17/09 and my surgery date is pencilled in for 12/17/09 pending final insurance approval. I had an Upper G.I. exam done today and everything checked out just fine. The exam was done at the same surgical center as where my surgery will be so it felt good to see the place. I'm very anxious to get the surgery done... it'll be a different kind of Christmas this year but it will be worth it. My wife is having lap band surgery in January, so I guess i'll be the guinea pig for her. I look forward to hearing more from all of you as your big day approaches!

Hello Everyone! I am new to this site. I have Aetna insurance and had to follow a 3 month plan for approval. I've done everything they required and my doctor's office (True Results) submitted the paperwork on 11/17/09. My surgery is tentatively scheduled for 12/17/09. My questions are: - Has anyone had experience with True Results / Dr. Nirmul? - Has anyone had any issues with Aetna not approving the surgery after their requirements have been met? - What should I expect the first week to 10 days after surgery?
