    Being hypercritical.

I, too, am expericing this "phenomenon". I am below my doctor's goal in just over a year. My BMI has gone from 46.8 to 24.4...but I still see myself differently than everyone else does. I do pick apart everything about my body. At my Psyc evaluation, the good Dr. told me this was going to happen. Boy, was she right. I, too, am tettering back and forth on the PS question. I can empathize with you.
  2. I have acutally used the Perfect Nutrition Plan by JB and it does make sense. Eating your "carb" post work-out to be burned off does in fact make sense to me.

Should I be able to feel my port??

The more weight I lose, the more I can feel my port. With that said, I have always been able to tell where it is since I had my surgery. Everything else being equal, this is an individualized situation like so many other things with this band.

    shakes

I don't like the premade shakes at all. I rarely use them but if and when I do, it is Matrix 5.0 mix all the way.

    Would you do it again?

An unequivocal "YES"! This is a huge blessing! I am 7 months out and have lost 83.5 lbs. My only regret is not doing this much much sooner!

    Help, from Houston!

Part of your pre-op stuff should be meeting with a nutritionsit to give you detail of what your diet should be like post band. At your appointment take a written list in of everything you to want to ask Dr. Marvin. Write down his answers. BTW, I know someone that was banded by Dr. Marvin; she is doing very well.

    overnight stay?????

Same day surgery for me. You'll do great. I do agree that it is about 50/50 on inpatient vs outpatient.

Over 40,000 music videos to choose from at VideoCodeZone! September 5, 2006 Well, tomorrow, my journey begins. I have given this fight to Jesus. I am taking the first step by attending the prerequiste seminar for WLS conducted by the surgeon that I have chosen. I have lost and regained the same 100+ lbs ALL of my life. I understand and acknolwedge that the band is only tool and not a genie in a magic lamp. I am very willing to do my part. I already am. I just need help. Making the call to ask to be a participant in this seminar was the hardest thing that I have ever done. I am excited and nervous.

    Anyone use

Thank you for the information, Karla! I am anxiously awaiting this seminar tonight so we can get this ball rolling!

    Anyone use

Dr. Eric Wilson in Houston? I am attending his seminar tomorrow with full intentions of having him perform my surgery. Any feedback would be appreciated. I am self-pay and am wondering about his costs also. We are not going to fight the insurance company, because the language pertaining to WLS is much the same for fertility treatments. We have been down the road with them so we know their drill. I just want to get this done and move on with life. TIA! Cyndy

    Hi!

I am a future bandster. I go for my seminar tomorrow. My GI doctor has told me that I must have this surgery. I have fought my weight all of my life and look forward to the day when it will not be an issue. I am prepared to self-pay and get this done ASAP! DH and I already know that insurance won't pay so we are realistic. After years of self-paying for fertility treatments, we are ready to pay for this last procedure.

    Hi!

Leila, Actually after suffering from infertility for 10 yrs (yep 10 yrs), God blessed us with a healthy DD in July of 2003. I lost 100 lbs (doctor supervised) to enable me to conceive (plus through the miracle of IVF that God has given us). I was able to keep the weight off until my hysterectomy late last year. So, I see this as the final step in the journey from my messed up endocrine system.
