Looking for those who started with BMI 35 or less
homewith2 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are there any other banders out there with a starting BMI of 35 or less? I'm getting my band in 1 week and I would love to hear about your experence with the band and how the weightloss is going. Thanks for any response! -
December Bandsters How much have you lost?
homewith2 replied to oceancity4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost 29 total including pre-op diet. -
Yea for you! That is wonderful! You will be in the 170's in now time!

Now that my face is thinner, I'm noticing some wrinkles. Anyone tried botox? I'm thinking about it. I don't want to look frozen, but I would like to zap some wrinkles. I'm still pretty young (37) so I don't think it will look un-natural. Thoughts??

A Surgical Incision Turned Black
homewith2 replied to RedSox90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's worth a phone call for sure! -
Thanks everyone! I have an appointment today to have it done. I'm not getting much so I'm guessing it will still look natural.

I've noticed that my stomach make a lot of noise too. It's a different sound that before surgery and it happens all the time!

Do you FEEL fat????????
homewith2 replied to esv2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have tried and tried to "adopt" the feeling of loving myself the way I am. I just can't do it! I have an overweight friend that truly does not think twice about it. Goes to the pool in her swim suit and has zero anxiety. I wish I could do that. I'm always worried about what I look like and how others "see" me. It's crazy, I know. I'm really not that important and people don't think of me the way I do! LOL! -

Yes, we are home of the KU Jayhawks. It's a beautiful place to live. Small town but not too small! We love it. I'm 4 days post fill and I feel great. I really think this could be my sweet spot. Is that possible with being only 8 weeks from surgery? -

Sketchers Shape-ups
homewith2 replied to SusanC is ready's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have them. Pros - I'm taller in them! They are super comfortable. I stand strighter so my posture is better. Cons - I don't think they will really make me look better. Overall, I still love them! -
I drink just as normal as I did before. I don't have to take sips. I have 7cc in my band and I think I'm at my sweet spot already! :-)

What is your favorite laxitive?
homewith2 replied to sdpressl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Susan! I don't take laxitives, but I have needed to up my fiber in take to make things move a bit! I found that Crystal Light makes a Rasberry Peach flavor that has added fiber. It tastes good, it's not thick at all, and it's only 10 calories with 3g of fiber. I drink 1 or 2 a day. -
Almost 4 weeks since surgery...Can I have a freakin drink??
homewith2 replied to Tiggerangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I could eat popcorn, I would pop a bowl and watch this play out........so entertaining! LOL! I got the band to use as a tool for helping me. I know others have reasons for getting it that differ from mine. I do drink on special days but hey, I own 2 liquor stores! This is a life time commitment and it's a life style change. For me, it's healthy to make choices that I can live with. I can't live with never having a glass of wine. I can't live with being overweight any longer. I think it's called balance and I'm willing to bet the farm that I can have both. For those of you who can go with out any sweets, and any booze, good for you! I'm not here to judge who will get to goal and who won't. I wish you all the best. -
It Happened Last Night - 1st Stuck & I PB'd
homewith2 replied to 65DueceCoupe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took too big of a bite at breakfast on Sunday and I felt it stick. It felt like I couldnt breath and I got up to go to the bathroom just sure that it would have to come up. As soon as I started walking, it went down and did not come back up! It ended up being no big deal. -

Silly - I went to Dr. Malley. I'm 8 weeks out from surgery. Excited - That's what I thought too but before I went in today, I had no idea that I had that much Fluid and I thought I needed a fill because I was able to eat more than I want. But I lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks so I guess it's working pretty well. No PBing, No heartburn.....Maybe I'm already at my sweet spot??? -

5 weeks post op and feeling discouraged/help
homewith2 replied to ChrisW123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get my first fill on January 11 so I can't help there but try not to be discouraged. Remember this is a slow process and you will feel restriction soon. Just do your best and remember the long term goal instead of the short term. You will lose weight! -
You guys are too funny. I try not to pass gas in front of my husband. Been married for over 10 years so don't know why it bothers me but anyway. After surgery I had so much trapped air and I could not burp or fart. So when a few days after surgery I started farting I was thrilled! I'm still having eppisodes of gas every day and I'm 16 days post op!

What were your first few days post-op like?
homewith2 replied to terrimj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 16 days post op and I feel completely normal and have for about a week now. Just hold on, it won't be much longer. If you feel sick to your stomach, call your dr. and ask for some anti-nausea suppositories. I took Promethegan and it helped so much. I never felt sick. -

I'm not feeling much restriction so I'm trying to really watch myself. It's going to be hard over the next two weeks with Christmas, my Birthday, and New Years. I'm hopeful that I can hold on to my current weight! I get my first fill January 11th.
