  1. Happy 26th Birthday Lyndz421!

  2. So, I have not visited these forums in a very long time. But I need some help from my fellow banders. This is my story. I was banded in October 2009. Lost about 80 lbs and felt successful. Then decided to go back to college. My weight fluctuated, down 20 lbs and then up 20 lbs again like a yo-yo. Then this past summer I hit a wall where I couldn't eat anything, nothing stayed down for two weeks. I had to fly home from school and my Dr completely unfilled my band, since I lived 5 states away and wasn't able to come back to have it monitored, this was the best option until I graduated and came home. Now here I am, 7 months later and 35 lbs heavier and feeling like a failure. My self control was not what I thought it was. Now, this Thursday I am getting my band filled to what it was before my un-fill and I already know I have to go and re-teach myself like the first time. liquid diet, mushy diet all over again. So my question is.. has anyone had a similar situation of basically starting completely over? Were your results as good as when you first were banded again, or was it a huge struggle for you? I'm very excited to lose weight again, it was so amazing the first time. I'm scared I can't do it again. So what I am really wanting to know is if this happened to you, or you have been in the same situation as myself. How was the journey for you? Thank you everyone in advance.

    Banded 10/22/2009

Wow! I wish my surgery would have gone as smoothly as yours did! I was also banded on the 22nd. Though it only took about an hr and a half under anesthesia I was in recovery for over two hours in SO much pain. I've already been back at work for two weeks now and the first couple of days I would be exhausted even after less than two hours. I was down 23 lbs at my two week appointment, but my doctor told me he wouldn't "high-five" me because everone is different! Some people come in only losing 8 lbs and others as high as mine but things slow down too. Everyone's body is different, so i'm sure once you fully start working out you will notice a jump in numbers! I hope you start seeing the results your looking for very soon! I bet you will! :w00t:

    Drinking after surgery

I understand where you are coming from. A week after my surgery was halloween.. die LOL I went to a party with my friends and was good and sipped Water the whole night. I'm 25 days post OP now, and last thursday I had 2 glasses of wine at the bar (we all go out for karoke) and I was fine. But I really wouldnt test it TO much a week after, everyone is different but I was worried. If you do choose to drink a week after surgery I would keep it super minimul, something like a glass of wine or vodka with a low calorie mixer. Definitely no carbonation. Good luck and happy birthday! :w00t:

    smoking after lapband ?

I was banded on the 22nd of October. I smoked my last cigarette before surgery at around 11 PM oct 21st cause they had no smoking after midnight haha. I waited a few days and tried to smoke again.. but it really hurt. So I waited a week, once my lungs were back to normal and I was on no medication smoking was not a problem.. I really should quit though lol.
  9. Anybody? Am I the only one this has happened to? lol
  10. Hey! I have a quick question! I am 25 days POST surgery and having been doing well. I used to be able to feel my port, as weird as it was it felt squishy and round and I could feel it. Now I woke up this morning, and it seems to have disappeared and I can't feel it anymore. Is that normal or has anyone dealt with that?? Please let me know! Thanks!
