I am a 36 year old, married, mother of 2. I have been married for 12 years and been with my husband for 22 years. After my both of my children were born I weighed about 220 lbs or so. I have tried many diets over the years. In 2000 I tried Metabolife and lost around 50 lbs. after losing the weight, I wanted to get healthier so I quit smoking in February 2001, that is when the weight kept creaping up! The most I weighed was 297 then I tried Weight Watchers, I lost about 25 lbs. hit a platuea so I stopped going to WW and eventually began to gain the weight back. At the end of 2008 I was diagnosed with high blood pressure after previously being diagnosed with depression, mild sleep apnea and plantar fascitis. I finally decided something had to be done before I leave my children without a mother. My mother had the lapband 2 years ago and my sister had the gastric bypass about a year ago, they both lost about 100 pounds. So I started looking into it for myself and found out that my husbands insurance paid 100% after the $2000 deductible. Had to jump through a lot of hoops so it would get approved. In the beginning of November I found out that it was approved! YES! Soooo Friday November the 13th I started my 10 day liquid diet. The first day was really hard! All I could do all day is cry. I mean really cry hard! The few foods that I was allowed to eat was really gross knowing that, that was all I was allowed to eat for 10 whole days was so scary. The choices of sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello, light yogurt with no berries or seeds, unsweetended applesauce, broth and strained cream soups were devastating! I couldn't stand all of the sweet stuff and cream of chicken was so gross, yuck. Day 2 Worked 16 hours and had to fit in times to eat. I ate sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello, light yogurt, unsweetended applesauce and had a protein drink, I couldn't stand to try the soup. After work I added sugar-free popsicles (they are also allowed) I ate about 4 of them before I went to bed. For some reason I can't drink as much as I usually do, so I haven't had much water intake.Day 3 Worked for 16 hours feeling really weak. I added a microwaved scrammbled egg to my diet, boy that is really alot better than eating something sweet.Day 4 At home all day, did better than I expected. I feel good today. Ate the sugar-free chocolate pudding and it tasted alot better than it did on Friday. Woke up and my ankles were not swollen and I had a little more energy than I usually do on a Monday!Days getting a little better, still disgusted with the food choices. I made it through the 10-days, WITHOUT CHEATING, I am so proud of myself. On day 7 of diet, I lost 13.6 poundsSurgery date: November 23, 2009
