I don't really have a lapband story yet, as I've only begun to look into the possibility of getting a lapband. What inspired me to look into this was a recent hospital stay because of chest pains. The cardiologist decided that I needed to have an angiogram, but I had to be transfered to a different hospital because of my size; the table in the cath lab at the first hospital wouldn't withstand my weight. I spent three extra days in the hospital, waiting for bed. The angiogram was negative, thank Source, but I am being treated for diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and I have already had one heart attack. When I finally got out of the hospital and got home, I broke a chair at my dining room table when I sat down. That was the last straw! I started researching lapband surgery as soon as I could trade out chairs!I have started a blog to document my journey and my decision making process. You can read it at http://distractedbydiets.wordpress.com/ .
