I have struggled with weight problems all of my life. I have tried all types of diets and have had moderate success. My greatest struggle was in maintenance. I did well for a time and then went right back to old habits. My latest effort was with a medical fast program at my local hospital. I was able to lose a significant amount of weight ...mainly because I was drinking shakes and did not have to worry about making the right choices. The shakes became too expensive and I tried to maintain good food choices but after time I let old habits back in.  I researched Lapband surgery for about a year. I consulted my primary care physician and she referred me to The Obesity Treatment Center at Catholic Medical Center. I went to my first information meeting in February and started the  program the next day. I attended the required courses and  kept all the necessary appointments. I got my surgery date on November 4, 2009.  I had surgery on November 12, 2009.
