I was told to stop drinking 30 minutes before a meal and wait an hour after. Believe me, it's difficult sometimes. But, I follow the rules to a tee and I've lost 66 pounds since May 1st, 2010!!! BTW - try sucking on an ice cube if you get thirsty! -
this was taken after i left the hospital...i was in soooo much pain from the gas that i couldn't show my face.

Yay! Good for you! After the initial recovery (Light pain & Gas) and then after the liquid diet (mine was 4 weeks long) you are gonna being loving it! I've lost 66 pounds since May 1st (that's including my pre-op weight loss)!!! Enjoy the new you! -

10 DAYS LATE ON PERIOD - is this normal after surgery?

Hey there - I was banded on 5/19. My period after surgery was 3 weeks late! I've read on other forums that this is common in the beginning. My guess is that our bodies have been going thru shock from extreme dieting (liquids) and surgery. Rebecca -

Wow you are such an inspiration!!! How tall are you? I started my pre-op diet at 344 pounds, I'm 5'11. I had my surgey on 5/19/10. Today my current weight is 301 lbs. I hope my success can be similar to your!!!

MAY BANDSTERS ~ How are you doing?

I was banded on May 19th by Dr. Ortiz in TJ, Mexico. SInce I started by preop diet (5/1/10) I've lost 36.8 pounds. I'm still on my post-op liquid diet (3 weeks perscribed), thank God I only have one more week left of that. I can't wait for all the weight to come off and be in a maintance mode! I won't have my first fill until 7/1/10 so currently I'm doing this on my own and feel great about it!!! Good Luck to everyone else out there!!! -

I'm still on liquids phase (3-week perscribed) and I'm just starting to feel like myself again. I'm down to 309 (-34.8 lbs)! I'm really loving these changes! I'll have to see what happens after my first fill which isn't until 7/1/10...

I made it! I got down to my pre-op weight of 317 and I hade my surgery this morning. Right now I'm at the surgery center recovering and I'll stay over night. I'm super glad that I made to this point...here's to the road ahead!!! Yay me and good luck to everyone else! God Bless, Rebecca
