I am fairly young, and have been over-weight most of my life. I've struggled with obesity throughout my years and have tried practically everything. I've been a yo-yo dieter, tried exercise tapes, pills, shakes, fast, and never got the result I wanted. My mom and aunt kept suggesting to get the Lapband. I initially had this perception of surgery for obesity as a form of cheating. However, the more research I did on the procedure, the more intrigued I got with the idea of it. So in July, I decided to make a consult. I thought to myself, "If I don't feel comfortable, or don't like the idea of it, I'm going to NOT do it". I went to my initial consult, and I was so impressed by how everyone was so friendly, and informative. I got all the information I needed, and was convinced that this would be the thing I needed to HELP me lose weight.I am only at 4 weeks and am very happy.I weighed in July 31st 2009 at 279! Yes, 277 and 5'2! Dangerous, I know.I lost some weight prior to the procedure, because of the diet they put me on. October 16th 2009 is when my life began to change. I just went for my first adjustment November 13th 2009 and I am now at 249. I know I still have a lot more to lose, but I am so excited, and know that it will be possible! I can't wait to be able to jog and go on hikes without running out of breathe within 3 minutes into the activity!
