Its hard to tell, how often do you weigh yourself. If its often, I would stop getting on the scale, especially if the numbers are messing with your head. You could be losing in inches, rather than in weight. Also, I'm not sure when you had your surgery...but they do say you slow, if not stop once you start introducing regular foods back in your diet. On top of getting the fill, you just have to understand that its not going to totally take that hunger feeling away. And as someone else mentioned, maybe doing the food journal to really see what your eating. I think I read on here...someone said its about the amount of calories your intaking compared to the amount your using. Basically you have to have a certain amount a day to maintain your current weight. Its confusing, I know...and frustrating because you have no idea what way to go. Best bet...is maybe to talk to the doctor or place you did the surgery with. See what they suggest. Its a work in progress.....

Hello all, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to have lots of fun with your family. I've been doing well, my secret santa at work bought me a Biggest Loser Weight scale. Never thought I'd be so happy to accept one. I'm doing very well...almost at 20lbs lost. I've managed to lose about 2lbs a week in the past two weeks. So I can't complain. I go in for my first fill on the 29th. -
Is a stretched pouch the same as having slippage? I just wonder. I know I'm not over eating, but since talking to some ladies at work who have the band....they said you really have no pain to know if thats happened. All you know is your eating more and I think there's more sliming or PBing involved. Not 100% though..

Hillmama...you look awesome. Definitely an inspiration. I'm in Leander, same age as you as well. I'm about a month out from my surgery. I can't wait to get to that point. When did you get your surgery? You do look like a model...gorgeous! -
Susan, To be honest, I think it depends on the person, regarding the pain. I thought I would be in so much pain after the surgery, based on some others I know at my job who got the lap band. But I did really well afterward. As for throwing up, I haven't yet. I'm at the point now...that I'm able to eat food but I know I want to eat more than I should. Its been hard but I'm doing pretty good. Its basically up to you on how your going to approach it and how serious you want to lose weight w/ the lap band. I get my first fill on the 29th....so that will help curb the hunger feeling soon.

Very true...I had my moment too, the first week in. Then today, to see my weight on the scale...and realize I lost 16 pounds in a month's time. I was like wow...on top of others telling me every day that I look thinner. LOL. :wink2: -

Dragon...I understand, I had my moment today...in the past few days just watching my family eat their meals while I'm sipping on some cream of chicken Soup and Protein shake. I'm so over the liquid part....but still doing it. I don't know if they gave you the Lap Band Solution book but I was reading through it...about after surgery, and its funny...last night I ate and drank at the same time...yes, it was just cream of chicken soup but I shouldn't have drank my juice w/ it and it caused me some major pain...right in the middle, near my breast bone.....ohhh I wanted to cry. I was reading the book today...basically, I over did it and that was my stomach telling me don't do it again! And I realized...I'm getting slobber mouth...which in the book mentions that extra saliva is a sign that you've had too much too. So its time to start figuring out whats too much and whats not for me. Other than that...no nausea, I have the suppositories they gave in a script before the surgery...the just in case. But haven't used them. I also went back to work yesterday...but we'll be off on Thursday and Friday. So it all worked out. I'm feeling pretty good outside of my port pain...and when I over do it on eating. LOL. -

Hi Iwoman...I'm in Austin as well, I was banded on the 17th. Glad to hear your doing well, I am doing pretty good too. Did a lot of walking on Thursday...around the mall. LOL. Just been hanging out at the house this past weekend though. I started the Protein Shakes last night...definitely a change compared to the clear liquids. -

Yeah, I'm going to try and focus on only 1-2 lbs weight loss. I know I'd like to see immediate results but its okay if I go slow. I want my skin to pull back as much as it can. -

Thanks, well last night I decided after having lots of stomach grumbling to move onto Protein shakes. So I had my first last night and it was soooooooo good, just w/ the low-fat milk and its chocolate flavor. It was good. Hahaha. This morning I'm having my Carnation Instant Breakfast for breakfast and will work on my protein shakes for the other meals. Worse part is the antibiotics have gotten to me so now I have to get some monistat since its caused me to have a yeast infection. (sorry if TMI) Other than that, I'm doing okay...my incisions are really itchy which must mean their healing well. -

I wonder, do you think it would be okay for me to move on to regular liquids then? I've been doing clear liquids since Tuesday and my stoma is now growling. I think its time and I seem to be doing well with the liquds so far. Any thoughts? I mean the paper said clear liquids for day 1 to 2 weeks, I'm guessing depending on the person. -

4x4Moma....step away from the scale! Lol. Yeah, I don't have one in my house...I was going to buy a replacement one but then I know I'd get super obsessed so its best it not be here. Maybe later on. Although the results may not be coming from the number on the scale, it could be with looser feeling clothes. I know that I can tell by looking at my body that I'm losing something...most likely inches right now. Yeah....I could use some cottage cheese, some pudding, something........I hate chicken broth. -

Are you serious? Did you get to have those from get go? Or did your surgeon tell you you could have them after a few days? I wonder...I was thinking about calling them. I won't be able to do mushies until I see them for my 2 week f/u on December 4th -

Awww...thats good your hubby is home. Yes, its a bit hard with someone around who's still eating whatever but I think I will rub off on my own hubby. He's lost some weight himself when he did the Atkin's diet w/ me for the 2 week pre-op. I keep on saying I'm hungry, when I see stuff on tv or smell things. But really, I'm not...I don't know why I do that. I guess its like that thing when you hit your foot and it really didn't hurt...but you say Ouch for some reason. LOL. -

I'm so scared of getting sick, I think thats why I'm taking it extra slow...on sipping and drinking things right now. Yeah, it may be the gas...cause at moments I feel it in my left shoulder then it moves. But I always feel it in the middle of my chest, like its going to come out in a burp...and it never does. LOL. It doesn't hurt as bad as it did before though. Yeah, I figured I wouldn't be able to touch bread...and that was my thing before this. So I had already started switching from white to whole wheat before the surgery...to get used to it, and hopefully I will be able to at least get a lil' bit of the whole wheat bread down when I can try.
