Hi all I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a sample of what they ate in the mushy phase of there recovery. I am on day 2 of mushies and not sure if I am eating too much. Today I had a shake for Breakfast (which I am slowly begining to hate) and some OJ. lunch was 6 oz of cottage cheese. I am still hungry and I know I will eat again before dinner. Why am I so hungry. A sample breakfast, lunch and dinner would be so helpful. Also approx quantities. Thanks in advance...I am just getting a bit down and kind of crabby. I know I wanted the band but now that I have it I am not so sure.

Getting banded in NYC on Monday, February 1st
JGF replied to LapNYC's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I got banded on 1/15 at NYU med center. I was happy with the hospital. Good luck to you!!! -
I feel the same way! I am sorry you feel this way but it helps so much to know I am not the only one. I got banded on 1/15. I just got home from my post op appt. The nurse I saw kind of blew off my concerns and feelings. I am scared about the position I sleep in and what foods on the mushies I should eat. And just about everything else worries me also. Did I do the right thing. I think so. I sure hope I know so in a few months! I really dont want to regret it. Good luck to all of you (us) lets keep in touch! J

Hi skinnygirl Congrats on your success. I am 6 days out from surgery. I would love to know what is a typical day of food for you now that you changed your eating habits. Its funny you had to up your calories to start losing weight. Whatever works is great. I am still new to this so I would appreciate any advice you can pass along. Thanks so much.

Glad to hear you are doing good. Today (sunday) I am a bit sore. I had to stay over b/c of sleep apnea (mandatory with my dr). Not too bad. I am a little scared or overwhelmed. I dont know... I am sure this will pass but it is really good to have you all to turn to. To know you are all going thru the same thing at the same time makes it so much better. Good luck to all and keep in touch! Dr. Feilding is banding me 1/15 any advice or comments
JGF posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I am going to be banded on 1/15 with Dr. Feilding in NYC. Does anyone have comments/advice about the practice or the hospital. I only met my doctor once for about 10 minutes. I like the office staff but I keep hearing others who meet the doctors more frequently. I guess I am just really nervous. So any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck everyone. -
Hi I'm January 15th also. I wont get the time until the night before. I am on day four of the liquid diet. The first 2 days really sucked. Its not fun at all but getting better. I have to drink shakes and eat veggies ice pops jello. The veggies are not agreeing with me. Or maybe its the shakes. Anyone else have an upset stomach? Soon we will be done with the pre diet and start the rest of our lives. I am so excited! j

I am on day 2 of the two week liquid diet. I am allowed only 4-5 Protein shakes, sf Jello, sf ice pop 30 cal max, and raw veggies. I really wish I could eat some lean turkey or chicken instead of one of the shakes. I am not happy. But yeah it is only for two weeks and I really want to do it. Like the other posters say, I am taking it one day at a time, but this will be the longest days ever. I get banded on 1/15 and I am so nervous and excited. Good luck to all of you, I wish you all a speedy liquid diet! J

Hi all I had my pre-op appt yesterday went pretty well. I start my liquid diet on the 2nd of Jan. My surgery date is Jan 14th:smile: As everyone has posted I am excited and nervous. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and start to panic. I have told just a few friends and while they are supportive I kind of feel like they think this is extreme. I just get that vibe. Anyone else feel that way? I am having it done by Dr. Feilding in NYC. Anyone else out there with him and a Jan date? Good luck to everyone. We are going to have a great 2010 J:thumbup:

I just heard...I got approved! I am so excited (and now the nerves are setting in). I will have my surgery on Jan 15th. Good luck to everyone keep in touch.

Hi January Bandsters I have a surgery appt for Jan 15th. I was on such a high leaving the Dr office. But its been over two weeks and they have not yet gotten approval. Everytime I call they say its pending. Its getting me really down. I just want to know. If ins says no to coverage I pretty much cant get the surgery. I really cant afford to self pay for this. Has everyone (or most of you) already gotten your ins approval? The surgical coordinator at my Dr. office said she is still waiting on December approvals. There is no way I would start the liquid diet without knowing if its a go or not. How about all of you? Good luck everyone keep in touch. I am having the surgery (hopefully) at NYU anyone else? J:ohmy:

Hi everyone... I have a date set for 1/15. Just waiting to hear from ins. My dr is pretty sure I will get approved. I have been dying to call the surgical coordinator and ask if she has heard anything, but i dont want to bother her too soon. Anyone feel like this is the "last" thanksgiving. I have been eating everything, becasue I keep thinking this may be the last time. I am so excited to make a change and I so want this surgery but I am also a bit worried about celebrations going forward. Its nice to have all of you to sound off to. I am keeping the surgery quiet for the most part. Dont want to hear opinions that could get me down. And I really dont want to have friends and family watching me to see if/when I lose weight. My husband is super supportive and that all I need right now. Have a happy and healthy thanksgiving...

Mandyfsc OMG I feel exactly the same way. I have been so torn about - should I tell or not. I am afraid they are going to say that it is crazy. One minute I want to tell evryone and the next I am almost ashamed I couldnt lose weight on my own. I too am about 75b lbs overweight with sleep apnea and high BP and I am scheduled for Jan 15th. I think besides my husband in the early part I am not going to tell anyone. I am proud that I am doing this but I really dont want anyone elses opinion. Good luck to you and lets keep in touch.

dyingtobethin...its crazy we have to gain weight to lose weight. My Dr said ins will take the weight records he has sent them so if I lose weight on the liquid diet I wont have a problem on surgery day. I am scheduled for 1/15. What a great way for all of us to start off the new year. I am starting to freak out. I am also eating like crazy. I feel everything I eat it may be the last time I can eat it. So I feel like I am entitled. Do you all feel that way?

Hi all I think I am doing this, I cant believe I am doing this. I have a Jan 15 surgery date. Just waiting to hear back about ins. Excited and scared. I love the thought of going through this with all of you. Makes it a lot easier. Good luck everyone...
