  5. I got banded on 1/15 at NYU med center. I was happy with the hospital. Good luck to you!!!
  6. Hi all I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a sample of what they ate in the mushy phase of there recovery. I am on day 2 of mushies and not sure if I am eating too much. Today I had a shake for Breakfast (which I am slowly begining to hate) and some OJ. lunch was 6 oz of cottage cheese. I am still hungry and I know I will eat again before dinner. Why am I so hungry. A sample breakfast, lunch and dinner would be so helpful. Also approx quantities. Thanks in advance...I am just getting a bit down and kind of crabby. I know I wanted the band but now that I have it I am not so sure.
  7. I feel the same way! I am sorry you feel this way but it helps so much to know I am not the only one. I got banded on 1/15. I just got home from my post op appt. The nurse I saw kind of blew off my concerns and feelings. I am scared about the position I sleep in and what foods on the mushies I should eat. And just about everything else worries me also. Did I do the right thing. I think so. I sure hope I know so in a few months! I really dont want to regret it. Good luck to all of you (us) lets keep in touch! J

    Great News!!

Hi skinnygirl Congrats on your success. I am 6 days out from surgery. I would love to know what is a typical day of food for you now that you changed your eating habits. Its funny you had to up your calories to start losing weight. Whatever works is great. I am still new to this so I would appreciate any advice you can pass along. Thanks so much.
  9. Glad to hear you are doing good. Today (sunday) I am a bit sore. I had to stay over b/c of sleep apnea (mandatory with my dr). Not too bad. I am a little scared or overwhelmed. I dont know... I am sure this will pass but it is really good to have you all to turn to. To know you are all going thru the same thing at the same time makes it so much better. Good luck to all and keep in touch! J
  10. Thanks for your responses. hair loss is just one more thing I am thinking about during this whole process. Its nice to know I have people here to help and support me. Katherine55 I have been reading your blog. Love it. Very helpful for a new comer. Thanks. I also go to the NYU practice. I am being banded by Dr. Feilding. I hope I run into you some time in the office J
  11. Am I going to lose my hair? I am having pre-op jitters and everything and anything is making me worried. Going in 1/15! Can anyone tell me about what to expect with relation to hair loss. And also how to prevent it! Thanks J
  12. Hi I am going to be banded on 1/15 with Dr. Feilding in NYC. Does anyone have comments/advice about the practice or the hospital. I only met my doctor once for about 10 minutes. I like the office staff but I keep hearing others who meet the doctors more frequently. I guess I am just really nervous. So any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck everyone.
  13. Hi I'm January 15th also. I wont get the time until the night before. I am on day four of the liquid diet. The first 2 days really sucked. Its not fun at all but getting better. I have to drink shakes and eat veggies ice pops jello. The veggies are not agreeing with me. Or maybe its the shakes. Anyone else have an upset stomach? Soon we will be done with the pre diet and start the rest of our lives. I am so excited! j

    Pre-Op Diet????

I am on day 2 of the two week liquid diet. I am allowed only 4-5 Protein shakes, sf Jello, sf ice pop 30 cal max, and raw veggies. I really wish I could eat some lean turkey or chicken instead of one of the shakes. I am not happy. But yeah it is only for two weeks and I really want to do it. Like the other posters say, I am taking it one day at a time, but this will be the longest days ever. I get banded on 1/15 and I am so nervous and excited. Good luck to all of you, I wish you all a speedy liquid diet! J
  15. Hi all I had my pre-op appt yesterday went pretty well. I start my liquid diet on the 2nd of Jan. My surgery date is Jan 14th:smile: As everyone has posted I am excited and nervous. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and start to panic. I have told just a few friends and while they are supportive I kind of feel like they think this is extreme. I just get that vibe. Anyone else feel that way? I am having it done by Dr. Feilding in NYC. Anyone else out there with him and a Jan date? Good luck to everyone. We are going to have a great 2010 J:thumbup:
