About Me

  • Biography
Still carrying the baby weight. Unfortuanely, the baby's 32! Seriously time to do something. Want to be here to watch my grandkids grow and now that I'm in my 50's all this extra weight is taking a toll on my health. This is my last resort.
  • Interests
Hangin' with the kids, walking the boardwalk and crocheting baby gifts. Used to power walk, Tae bo, bowl, ball room dance. Maybe in a couple more years I can do that again!
  • Occupation
Disabled. After 15 yrs in nursing - career change found myself in library automation - marketing and sales. Obesity changed all that. YOU YOUNG PEOPLE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES!
  • State
    New Jersey
  1. Happy 60th Birthday MickyLB!

  2. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary MickyLB!

  3. Hi Linda, Sorry the weight loss is not going so well. That's depressing news. I've heard some people say they're still hungry and others have lost 30lbs the first month. I don't know what to expect. I'll hope for the best. I hope things get easier for you. Best of luck as you continue.

  4. LOL rite! I think thats a very good idea!

to weigh or not to weigh...

I'm scheduled for lap band in April. You girls have convinced me..I'm throwing my scale in the garbage befoe I have my surgery. LOL! I don't need something ELSE to drive me crazy, and deep down inside I know I'd be like the person weighing after every bathroom break. :-)
  6. Hello Micky I had my surgery in Oct 8th this year and I am 58 yrs old. I had my surgery for the same reasons you are. I have 5 grandkids and a wonderful husband that I want to be around for. I have lost about 20lbs since surgery. It is not as easy as you think (surgery was fine no problems) I have had 1 fill and still get hungry but I am not over eating. Hope your surgery goes well. From one not so old lap bander to another.

Are you guys talking "TheCher?" - Buono??? If so, how cool! You guys are having a blast! Sounds like there's a lot of interaction and support among Lap Banders. That must help. I hope I can find some local to me. (NJ) - I don't see a picture of the group posted? How do I access that?

I am totally going to do it!

This is a great find. I will look for it as I prepare to move forward with my surgery. My husband was electrocuted a few yrs ago. He survived, but has never been the same since. Works a "menial" job but at least can work. But, when he's home he's always in his chair. Rarely smiles, fights depression, etc. I'm going to see if I can get him to use this also. What do we have to lose right? Thanks for the input!

    It has been forever!

Oh my! You guys are scaring me. I think I'm probably older than the rest of you. The pics I'm looking at are pretty young woman. I've been fighting being over 100 lbs over goal for over 30 yrs. I feel like this is my last ditch effort to be able to see all of my grandkids grow up. So, I'm finally taking the plunge. Due to insurance my surgery isn't til April 2010! But, I'm worried now. What if it doesn't work for me? Keep your chin up girls. Hopefully the weight will start dropping off and you can give me some good news! Good luck to all of you. Be happy.
