My weight losss journey started in 2005. I work for the State of Texas and I petition the insurance company to approve me for the gastric bypass surgery. As it turned out, this was an exlusion on our plan and it was considered cosmetic. I was so upset because I knew that I had a problem and I was also dealing with diabetes and high blood pressure. When I was born, I was a premi ane barely weight in at 2 pounds. All the care and loving that my parents gave me developed me into a plumb child. I struggled with weight problems and constanly tried new diets only to fail. So, after being denied by my insurance, I pettion the Governor of Texas and all the state representatives. By this I mean, since they were in sessions I wrote every representative regardles of district they were from. I got the Governor and the legislation to approve these surgeries on our plan. The approval did not come without alot of red tape and it was not on our plan until after I had my surgery. So, I travel to Tijuana Mexico and had my surgery with Dr. Almanza. This was the best thing that I could of done and I do not regret having this done. They treated me very well and I would go back at any moment. I still would like to have a tummy tuck and breast reduction but until a later date. If anyone has concerns about going to Mexico don't think twice. So I am happy to say that I went from 288 pounds to 188 pounds. I no longer have high blood pressure or diabetes.
