    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Hello everyone, My name is Anu and I am a Jan 2010 to be bandstander!! I am so excited to see everyone here - I know we will need each other to keep going!! 1. What is your current and goal weight? 285/160 2.What is your surgery date? 1/13/2010 3.What is your age? 38 4.Where do you live? Toronto, Canada 5.Where are you having surgery? SWLC - Mississauga 6.Who is your Doctor?? Dr. Christopher Cobourn 7.Insurance or self-pay? Self pay - all the way! 8. What was you "deciding factor" for having this surgery? I am tired of not being able to tie the laces on my shoes without having a step to put my foot up on. I am also tired of asking for a seat belt extension on flights. I want to have children. My husband deserves a thinner me. What do I want to do after I lose the weight? Live a full - normal life. And be able to buy clothes from any store - not just a plus size store!! Good luck to all of us!!

I know exactly how you feel - hang in there - you are not alone! I live in Ontario Canada and last evening I had my first consult with the surgeon. Dr Cobourn is a wonderful man and inspires huge trust and confidence. I need to know this - did anybody here burst into tears when they met their surgeon? I cannot explain what happened to me - I could not stop the flow of tears - I was not sobbing - but the tears were flowing down my cheeks! I felt like a fool - I hate to even think what the surgeon thought about them!! I am still trying to figure out - was it fear, uncertainity or relief? Did anyone have such an emotional outburst?

  6. Thank you for that Rozi - I thought about Mexico too - but I am worried that will not find anybody locally here in GTA to do my adjustments and fills. Do you know anybody who will do your fills with no liability issues?? Please do let me know - and COngrats and I am so happy for you that you are feeling amazing.
  7. Hi everybody, I am new here. I am a woman 38 years of age, 5ft 3 inches and weigh a whopping 288 lbs. After fooling myself and being in denial for the longest time, I have finally decided to get banded (is that a word?) I considered going to India to do it - but after reading numerous threads here about 'fill issues' I think doing it here is the best. I have booked a first free consult with SWLC Mississauga end of the week. Anybody here used them? Happy with service and results? Is there any other place I should try? Please do share experiences and costs. I need to have a comparative to make a decision. Thank you all.
