My name is Sandy   I am waiting for my surgery date (Lap Band)Up to this time I have been on every conceivable diet you can think of.  After being diagnosed with sleep apnea(5 years ago) , pre-diabetes(3 years ago), high blood pressure(8 years ago) , high cholesterol(3 years ago) and severe fibromyalgia (10 years ago) I knew I had to do something if I want to keep on living.  After speaking with my doctor and wondering what new pill she was going to give me for what ails me, she came right out asked me if I had ever considered doing gastric bypass surgery.  I told her I was unfamiliar with it, just the advertisements I saw on TV.  She said she thought it would be a good choice for me.  I went home feeling that finally I was on the right track to making my life livable again.  I thought about all the things that I have had to give up because of the extra 50 pounds and more that I have put on in the last two years.  I wish I had known about gastric bypass a long time ago.  I know I would have been a happier person today.I took my doctor's advice and went to a free seminar within the next week.  Right away I knew this was for me.  I decided on the lap band right away, just because it's not as invasive and I am too afraid at my age to do the full blown gastric bypass.  I still think I made the right decision.  I immediately got scheduled with Western Bariatric and started right in to my new journey.  To date I have  done all the things on my Checklist to Surgery.  I am now on Step 1 of the Liquid Diet, next week starts Step 2.  I am waiting anxiously for my surgery date with Dr. Sasse.  I am so ready for this!!!!
