1. My best friend live in ATL.

  2. OMG- that is wonderful news. I know you are very excited because I felt the exact same way once things really started rolling. I am so very happy for you, and I know things are going to work out just fine. Good luck on your band! It's a wonderful life to live. My band is a great tool. Learn to work with it and it will become your best friend!

  3. Thanks for adding me as a friend.

  4. of protein can harm your kidneys. You just need to figure out how much you need on a daily basis and that's it. The band is no quick fix but it is a tool to help you stay on track. Learning your band is a big must as well. What works well for one person is not always the key for everyone else. Good luck!

  5. Hi Caramellyregina, sorry for just getting back with you. I haven't been on the site like I use to do. My life is so busy lately but for me the key is working out as much as possible. It really don't make a difference what it is just do something to get your heart rate up. I have also learned that portion control is so important. I am careful with my protein due to an excessive amount(cont)

  6. You are killing that hat! I love it and it really looks great on your face.

  7. How are things going with you? Thanks so much for the pic comment. Things are going well -just slowly- or so I think. Several people have been so kind with all of their encouaragement and kind words. This summer has been the best one I can remember ever. I am able to wear the cuties clothes, skirts to my knee which I never would have worn in the past. I love my band though the good/bad!

  8. I can remember like yesterday waiting for an answer. That was so frustrating for me. I like for things to happen right away, and I do know that's not reasonable but it's an area I have to work on . I pray everything goes well for you and that date will be right around the corner. Good luck and stay positive.

  9. How are things going? Thanks for visiting my site. Do you have a date set at this point. Good liuck.

  10. I hope things are going to get easier for you. Yes, that phase is not an easy one to go through but it's worth it all once you have your band. It's almost been a year since I had my band and I still have a lot of limitations to follow. The hardest thing for me was learning how to listen to my band and body at the same time. Good luck.

    Starving

Just remember that your liquid diet is just a short term goal, and pretty soon you will be on your way to a new and improved person. Therefore, it seem very hard and difficult but it's worth all the things you are subjected to right now!
  12. Thanks so much for the comment. How are things going with you? My goal is to lose about 35 more pounds. I am 6'1 and I have always had a large frame even at my smallest weight which was 195 in high school. I can remember thinking I was so fat, but that was a good size for me. Therefore, I want to get within a range around 200-230. Those last 35 pounds will get me there.

I don't even like to shop!

That is wonderful news and I can only image how proud you are of yourself. I too have been pleasantly surprised to get into sizes that I never thought I could or would wear again. Good luck and I hope you continue to see the sizes go down.

  14. I wish you the very best of luck with your up coming surgery. I really do appreciate your encouragement. This band is not an easy fix but it's a tool to enable you to reach your weight lost goals. It's a lot of trail and error and learning to listen to your band. Once you can figure out how to do all of that - the weight will come off. Remember work out/work out is the key!

May 26 - 285 days post op - "Morbid" no more!

Congrats on the weight lost goal. I pray God allow you to find that teaching job just in time for the upcoming school year.
  17. I think you look great. That's one of my biggest issues I am trying to tone up my lower body. My thighs, hips, and butt are not firm at all. Being tone makes all the difference in the world. I would give the world for those legs.

It's almsot been a year since my surgery!

I do appreciate everyone's support and encouragement. Yes, Judyjones having this band is not the easy way out. If someone wants to see real results they have to put real work into their band. That means working out when you don't feel like it and not over eating because the temptation is there. Learning to respect the decision you have made to have a different life. Understanding that the band is only a tool to help assist you with you weight lost goals. I have learned that every single decision I make will affects my weight loss in a positive or negative way. This road has not been easy but it's worth ever thing I have been confronted with. God has truly blessed me through this entire process!

    frustrated

I was banded on June 21st 2011 and my starting weight was 325 / 6’1 tall and my current weight is now 250. I am very sensitive to fills and I only have 4.25 in a 10cc standard band. I have had three over fills in which fluid had to be removed. There are times when the least bit of food is too much for me to handle so I’ve learned to deal with eating by chewing my food really well. There are a few times that I can enjoy a reasonable meal without getting the stuck feeling. There are the majority of times I can get very little down without having to throw up. It's like my band has a mind of its own every day it’s not the same for me. Before my surgery I was wearing a size 24-26 and today at work I have a size 14 dress. Those are the things I feel the most proud about. I feel like the scale is not always moving but my clothes are fitting differently every single week. I learn not to pay that much attention to the scales but what size do I currently fit into on weekly basis. I guess each person has to determine what they consider to be success. I do wish you the very best with your band
  20. Thanks so much for adding me on as a friend.

I feel like my weight lost is stagnate!

I do appreciate everyone's words of encouragement and suggestions. I will continue to workout at the YMCA or at home with the equipment I have collected. I know if I continue the weight is going to come off soon. I guess we all need to stay encouraged and focused on the big picture. For me the big picture is overall good health and a better outlook of the person I am working towards becoming.

I feel like my weight lost is stagnate!

I want to start off by saying- I do thank God for all that he has allowed me to do, but I can't help but feel that things are at a stand still for me with losing weight. I work out faithfully at the gym. I have never been so committed to working out as I have within the last couple of months. People are constantly coming up to me saying how good I look and how very proud they are of me. I have learned to just smile and tell them how much I really appreciate their kind words of encouragement. Honestly, I do like to hear those encourageing comments from people, but I question who is this person they are talking about. I have even had people to come up to me that has not seen me in a very long time telling me how they didn't reconize me at first. I am thinking what in the world are your looking at because I am the same person. I start to think to myself do I really look that different. I try really hard to see all the nice positive things being said to me, unfortunately I just don't see that person everyone else is talking about. Sometimes it's a mental struggle for me to be happy and proud of all these things I've accomplished but it's very hard for me to accept. One thing I am the most proud of is my mother deciding to join the YMCA through the silver sneaker program. Her medical insurance plan covers her membership and enrollment fees. She has beome so excited about her water aerboics because it takes the stress off of her joints which enables her to workout in the pool. It is so wonderful to see how much she is enjoying the workouts. I can really see how the inches are starting to come off. She is more moble and she is starting to regain her life back. I just don't see myself being this new and improved person as others do. I can identify some changes from my clothing size but overall I do see myself as the same. I know inches come off before the actually weight dropps, but I need the scale to do it's thing. Overall, my life is a lot better than it has been in a very long time.
  25. Ha, this is so crazy because I justed typed you this entrie long post and I clicked post and it disappeared. I will rephase myself by saying don't get frustrated and give up, because you are worth the fight to have whatever you want. I do thank God for my band every single day. It has changed my life for the better. The process isn't easy but what is! Good luck in all you do.
