A third of the way there!

I really think you are making the right decision, because it will change your life for the better. Stay focused and that date will come.
  5. BT,

You are so correct, but it is really hard for me to wait on things that's going to improve my life. I know my weight did not occur over night and there is no magic fix to my weight issues.

I guess am so ready to live the life without this weight I have always wanted to live. Sometimes it a pain that no one really understands unless they have walked in the life of an over weight person.

Again, I really appreciate your encouragement. Good luck with your scheduled date to be banded.

  6. Hello India,

Thanks very much for those encouraging words. I know everything am currently going through will be so worth it when the band is done.

Happy New Year to you and your family as well.

    A little Disappointed but patient

Today I was really hoping to hear back from Dr. McCowin's nurse, but so far nothing. I really wanted some good news to carry me through the weekend. Sometimes I have heard no news can be good news. Well, I had not completed my paperwork for the dr in Brunswick. I guess I need to go ahead and complete it before Wednesday for my appointment. Maybe Monday Ronda will give me a call back teling me something either way.

  11. Hi India,

No I do not live in the Metro area but am always open to secrets to promote my weight loss once the band is done. I have not completed all the appropriate steps, but I do feel closeer each day to being banded.

  12. Hi Sheryl,

All of this is new to me and it's always good to be able to have someone with some of the same similiar concerns.

    Stay focused on your goals.

    Pins and Needles

To day am waiting on a phone call from the Dr's office to let me know if my insurance will be accepted by Dr. McCown. I really pray things work out because now more than ever, I really want to get the band. I get so excited for others when they are given an approval or an offical date for banding:ohmy:! I have always heard that if you can celebrate for someone's happiness God always make the same provisions for me ! If I have to go out of town, then I will do what I have to do. This morning I mentioned to my husband about being banded. He acted as if that was the very first time he had ever heard the word Lap-band®®®! He stated, "you know I still have until the end of January to make any changes to my insurance"! Okayyyy, now am thinking what was that all about. He always make comments about me losing weight, but in a very nice kind of way. Therefore, why in the world would he not want me to be banded. Honestly, I really don't care if he want me to be or not- if things are approved by any doc am getting it. He better watch out because a new me is just around the corner! By the end of the day I will have good news or Wednesday I'll be on my way to Brunswick Ga.

  15. Hi Janet,

My four year old attends a private school, I provide his lunch. I try really hard to always fix something that is healthy and not loaded with sugar. However, only things that do not need warming can be sent daily which creates an issue. It limits the things I can send to school with him. I make a lot of sandwiches with lean turkey /low sodium on wheat bread. I also use olive oil mayo. His juice box is 25% less sugar than the normal juice box w/ apple sauce or fruit cup. It's really had to make a lunch daily that he is not getting so bored with. Healthy food choices are a daily concern for me and my children.

Thanks for keeping in touch and the encouraging insight.

  16. Hello TK'

Am sorry but your boyfriedns sounds just like my "insecure" hubbie. At least you can thank God he's only a boyfriend. He sounds a lot like my husband when I actually started to make tanglible arrangements for the band. He asked why did I really need the band and I could loss the weight on my own if I really wanted to.

Maybe your BF is starting to be a little insecure with the fact of you becoming more at peace with the new body you will have.

I would not allow anything or any body to make you feel bad about making good choices for your health and happiness!

Stay focused and positve on your weight loss goals. Remember you can do all things with GOD in your corner!

    Nov 16, 2009 90lbs Down!

You look so wonderful and peaceful. I can't wait until my day comes for the band. Great job.
  19. shonette

Like Guns & Roses...I need a little Patience!

I really hope they will agree to allow you to get the procedure done at the newly advertised price. In this economy every single penny counts. Good luck on being banded. I am still waiting to see what my insurance commpany is going to say. Things are oly going to get better!
  20. I really do appreciate your encouraging words. My faith is sometimes the only things that keeps me focused on the brighter things in my life. My four year old sone is a big reason for me wanting to get banded. He is currently over weight for his age, and I really don't want to see my son grow up with the same issues I dealt with in my childhood. He is smart and full of life, but weight is a concern. I want to be the example for good choices and healthier foods to eat. He really enjoys all types of good food, but her really like to eat too much of anything.

I want my son to see Mom loss the excessive pounds and understand how important it is not to over eat. I am so excited to see things finally becoming a reality for me.

    Again, thanks.

    There is "HOPE"

I really don't know why, but I find so much comfort expressing my thoughts and feelings about my weight issues in my blogs. Being able to write these blogs are a emotional release for me. I am so excited because I called the local Doc in Valdosta just for info, and I found out that he do except my husband's insurance. All of my information was taken over the phone & I faxed a front/back copy of the insurance card to prevent any info errors. Ronda @ Dr. McCown's office will get back with me no later than Friday to let me know the overall status is going. Whatever that may be. I really want to get the band in Valdosta. I guess my kids play a large role in me not wanting to be out of town. Being out of town for any type of medical procedures brings back bad/neg memories of me lossing my son. That's one more emotional part of my life I have to deal with. It still give me a lot of hope that Dr. McCown will be able to do my band. My husband is very supportive of me getting the band, because he would like to see the old me from years pasted on. However, my mothere really do not believe in any type of medical procedure to aid in weight lost. Actually my mother would benefit more than anyone if she would agree to being banded. She has not gotten on the scale in years, but I believe she is way over 400+ pounds. I look at my mother and I do not want that to become me in the future. I want to be able to live a active moble life without the limitations my mother has. My mother is one of the biggest reasons I want to be banded. I feel that my family deserves to have all of me for a very long time. Overweight runs in my family and everyone accepts it as apart of their life. I now know that being over weight does not have to be apart of my life. I know things are going to work out for my good one way or another. I do know there is Hope!
