    8.10.10 28 weeks post op 223# 62# lost

You look Great! I am so proud and happy for the success you are having. Hard work really pays! (smile)!
  2. Thanks so much for the nice and encouraging words on my blog. It really means a lot to read warm heart felt words such as yours. You are such a warm and considerate person to others.

  3. This morning I was getting dress for work, and I looked at myself in the mirror! For the first time in years I was somewhat pleasantly surprised at the person I saw! This person has a nice glow about herself than ever before.(me) I have spent some much of my life doing everything for everyone else, and I never took time out to do anything for myself. I am normally racing around my house cleaning up after everyone, cooking, washing, assisting with homework, and being "Grammie"! Yes, I am a grandmother to a one month old little boy! He was born 3 days after my surgery! Therefore, I had very little to no healing time after my surgery. He is soooooo wonderful and I love him to no end! However; being there for my daughter and her baby is a lot to juggle. I also have my finally appointment with my casework today to complete the process to becoming a foster parent. I sometimes feel like I am going to lose my sense of being. I do know God isn't going to place any more on me than I can handle. My plate is very full at times, but it was the way I've always defined who I was in this world. I now know I can take care of myself in the process. I now know I am so much more than that person who provides and takes care of everyone else's needs. I am learning to take some time out of my day to take care of myself. I work out at the YMCA at least 3-4 a week for at least 1 1/2 at night. This gives me the time I need to relax and reflect on myself. Being me isn’t so bad after all!

Learning to appreciate who I am in my "Own Skin" !

I really appreciate all the nice and encouraging words from everyone. It means so much to be able to express my feelings and hardships to others who can relate in some way or the other. Again, I really appreciate the love and support I always feel from this site.
  5. You look really good. Hard work does pay!

Just a few weeks till the Wedding, still 9 to go!

I pray God will give you the strenght and the will power to reach your goal. A size means somthing totally different to different people. My size range is 14-16 due to my height 6"1 and large frame. That is my overall goal. I am in a size 20 but not for very long LOL!
  7. Thanks for stopping by my page.

At first the process seems very long, but time goes by a lot quicker than you think. I did not believe it at first but it is true. I wish you all the best of luck!

  8. Good luck on your upcoming band date. I was sooooo excited the last couple of days leading up to my surgery. I pray God bless you to heal and start your weight lost!

    Very Cute pic!
  10. Thanks so much for the comment about my long term food choices. I do know my entire family need to change food choices. I will check out the website.

  11. Today I received my first fill and it was not as bad as I had anticipated it being. My doctor is a very cool person and he has a way of talking you through your fears of the unknown. I really don't have a problem with needles, but I did not want to be stuck multiple times as I originally thought would happen. I learned that I have a standard seize band that is 10 cc, and I was given 2 cc of saline in my band today. My doctor took me up to 3cc just to let me know how it felt to have an over fill. He then took 1 cc out and I was able to swallow just fine. He was really proud of my weight lost, but he also wanted me to focus more on my fat percentage and not just the weight lost itself. I was put on a three day post adjustment diet to ensure everything was working the way it should. He also encouraged me to buy one of those scales that calculate your body fat mass along with your weight. On the way home from the Hospital I felt a little pressure in my chest area, but it appears to be fading away at this time. I do feel like my diet is very bland at times so I pulled up some food ideas that are high in protein from the net just to mix things up a little. I don't want to feel like this is something I can't do, because I know I can and will do this. Since I now have my first fill, I don't want to feel like my weight lost will slow down. I know that sounds crazy! I really want to keep myself on a consistent weight reduction cycle. I feel really good about the things I am doing right now, and people are really being supportive towards me in this process of losing weight. I had my first appointment with my Podiatrist today, and he gave me a boot to sleep in and a cortisone shot in my heel to relieve some of my pain and pressure. Hopefully, once I get my heel pain under control my exercise can increase. At this point it is just so hard to apply excessive pressure on my feet. The pain is just too much to bare at times. In three more weeks I will be considered for my second fill. I really do thank God that I don't have any type of complications with my new found friend "Allergan" my band!
  12. Thanks for the reply on my page. Yes today my doctor put in 2cc in a 10 cc band. I am really excited to know that I do have a little restriction in my band. I have been scheduled for another appointment on 9-9-2010 for another fill. I wrote about my first fill experience on my blog if you would like to read it . You appear to be doing very well without a fill. I do believe having something in your band makes it a lot easier. Keep me updated! Will you post any pics of your progess? I am posting new pic in Sept.

Mindy 1 yr later 105 Pounds gone

    You look really great!
  14. Thanks for visiting my site. Have you been banded yet? If so how are you doing and how much weight have you lost? So far I'am 22 pounds down since 7-21-10. I have my first fill this Thursday ooooooooH am so excited!

  15. Thanks for visiting my site. I was banded on 7-21-2010 and that has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made. God has enabled me to practice all the skills I was taught along the way to getting my band. I can truly see myself in a healthier light than ever before. The scales don't lie and they are moving for me. My clothes are fitting much better and my body is changing daily in a good way. I do believe with any choice we make in life there will be consequences, but the band out weigh all my fat girl issues. I don't believe you will be sorry if you decide to be banded. Be encouraged and stay on track to what you really want.

    Waiting is HARD!!

You are so right because patience builds our temperament for the long haul. I learning to wait and to stop wishing time away. Thanks.
  18. Hello CoCo,

How is everything going with you today. I can not wait until next week when I get my first fill. Honey, there is no real restriction and boy can I tell it. I really want to be able to experience the really meaning of not being hungry. My hunger is not excessive but it is a little too much for the weight lost I want to have. Just checking in to see how you are doing. Keep in touch. I will send you some more pics of my G/baby!

  19. Hell Inhardemon,

I do understand how things go with the insurance. That was one of the things I didn't enjoy the most outside of my sleep study. I will be praying for a quick approval. I really had to stay on my husband's insurance company, because they appeared to be in no hurry to approve me. Thank God it's all over and now the rest is up to me. Good luck and may God continue to bless you throughout this process. I do love my band and my first fill is next week.

    Don't Worry ~ Be HAPPY!

Those words are comfort when things are there hardiest! I also love that God tells us if we worry there is no reason to pray, because we are not trusting him to handle our problems! Therefore, I have learned to pray about all things and worrry about nothing! It is a process that is not easy to do, but having faith in God makes it possible.
  21. Thanks so much for the friendship request. I really appreciate the encouraging words. I know that I have a long way to go, but the band is making this process a whole lot easier. THanks again.
