Thanks so much for the encouraging comments on my blog. I was banded on 7-21-2010 and as of this morning I am down 25lbs and 2 sizes. I really feel great and I thank God daily for this band! It is really the tool I've always needed. Sabdif it has not been an easy road for me to follow, but the rewards have been worth every sacrifice! How are things progressing along with you since your band?

Thanks so much for visiting my site. I had so many thoughts and unknowns about my band before it was implanted. I now know this band is only a tool to all us to achieve our weight lost goals a little easier. We still have to do the work if we want to see results. The weight is not going to come off without our input. I am learning what works and what does not work for me. I am learning to replace my unhealthy eating habits with better ones. Food has always brought me pleasure, but becoming a healthier person is replacing that desirer. If I can assist you in any way please let me know.
The road isn't easy but the outcome makes the battle worth fighting. May God bless you on this new and exciting journey.

You are so correct that food has never failed me either, but it has always set me up for failure. All the unhealthy attachments to food have landed me to the place I am now in my life. Thank God I have a second chance to correct a lot of the wrong I have done. I now feel like an unfinished piece of art in progress! We need to stay focused and have faith that God will help us to achieve our goals. Thanks for your remarks. If I can assist you in any way please let me know.

Thank you so much for the feed back. I only work out maybe 2x per week. I am eating around the same amount of calories, but I know the key is to step up my workouts. Girl, you are such an inspiration to me, and I really appreciate you taking the time out to support me. May God continue to bless you on this journey! Again, Amazing!

. I was put on a three day soft diet just to allow my band to adjust to the new restriction. I do believe I could have taken the 3ccs, but I really don't feel that much restriction at all now. I go back on 9/9 for my second fill and I am hoping for a little more restriction. I can tell there is now something in my band, and I have experienced certain foods hanging up when I eat. I am hoping for that sweet spot I hear everyone talking about. I wish you the best of luck! If you don't mind me asking how much weight have you lost so far?

Hello Kim,
How are you doing? My very first fill was not as bad as I first thought it would be. In fact my doctor made it very painless and stress free. Some people need something to numb their site, but I did not use any numbing meds. The needle used was very thin to access my port. You will need some cool water to drink after your saline is injected to make sure you are able to swallow appropriately with nothing hanging up. You want to experience a little resistance but then the water should go down smoothly. I had 2ccs put in but my doctor put 3ccs in just to allow me the experiences of an over fill. He removed 1cc and I felt just fine. (part 1)

How are things going with you. I read your blog concerning your emotions with food. I think everyone who has a weight problems has experienced that in some form or another. Just stay focused and remember why you wanted the band in the first place. It's not easy but as the weight start to come off, you will be more willing to work with your band. I fall off from time to time, but I do enjoy the changes am seeing with my body. That is becoming more pleasing to me than food. Have faith and don't give in to the fat girl voices in your head -"that's what I call it"! Thanks for the friendship request.

I am so happy to know that you are doing so much better since the fluid was removed from your band. You have done such an amazing job with your weight lost, and I do understand your concerns about gaining the weight back. Hopefully, your good food choices and food behaviors will help to maintain your weight during this transition. I had acid reflux for over 7years, and I don't know how in the world I learned to deal with it so long. I was banded on July 21, 2010 and my hernia was repaired at that same time. I felt like my life was given back to me once the hernia was repaired. Now when I hear of others going through the same things I did for years, my heart goes out to them. JSC, you are a very strong person and you will accomplish your final weight lost goal. It may take you a little longer to do it, but God will give you the strength and willpower to achieve your goals. I am praying for you!

I was so sorry to hear what your were going through. Did you have a hernia before your band? I did and it was repaired during my procedure when I was banded. I too had really bad reflux ,and I thank God I now have no problems. I will be praying that things will be okay with you. Just think, 3 weeks is not that long and you can get another fill once that time has passed and you're feeling better. Please take care of yourself and follow your dr's advice. Before my hernia was repaired, I could control it with the things I did or didn't eat. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.
