  1. Don't get frustrated because every single person lose weight at a different rate. Always remember that you did not gain your weight in one day or even a month. Just be constant with portion control and doing so type of workout. Find something that you enjoy doing and stick with it or change things up if your are easily bored by the same things. I really don't write down my food or count calories like a lot of other people have suggested you to do. Maybe that works for them, but honestly, I don't have time for all of that. I just make sure that I cut my portions in half whenI do eat and I drink as much Water as possible. You want to eat your Protein first , veggies, and so on it you have room. Please don't judge your success based on the things you read or see about other people on this site. Each person on here have a different story and no one story is the same. (We are all different and our bodies are too)! Just stay focused and be honest with yourself daily. I know when I have good or bad days with my food choices, therefore I can work really hard not to make the same errors the next day. You just need to figure out how to make your band work for you. Don't give up because all of this was not for nothing. Good luck and it will kick in before you realize it. Don't focus so much on the scales- pay more attention to your inches lost and how your clothes are fitting you. Remember if you are working out muscles weigh more than fat and the scales may change due to your body structure changing. On this site you will get so much input, you just have to figure out what's best for you.
  2. When were you banded and what did you do to lose the weight so quickly? It appears that you have done an outstanding job. You should be very proud of yourself.

  3. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing heartburn. I thought that would be a thing of my past since my hernia was repaired when I was banded. I do understand why I have had the heartburn and it was due to me throwing up & being too tigh. Therefore, I try really hard to tough my stuck mements out and not to give in to throwing up. GIRL , you look just wonderful.

  4. Just checking up to see how are you doing. I pray all is well with you.

  5. Thanks so much for your kind words and support. Yes, I have been feeling a lot better since I had some of the fluid taken out. I just need to be careful because I can tell I am able to eat more food. I don't want to gain any of my weight back from my unfill. Honey, it looks like you are doing a wonderful job. I am so proud of you! Again, thanks. PS. I work out really hard at the gym weekly.

  6. Last week I was experiencing a lot of difficulty getting things down, and I started throwing up "a lot"! That was my warning sign that something was wrong, and I needed to see my doctor. I prayed to struggle through the weekend and I gave the office a call first thing Monday morning. Thank God, Dan the PA was able to see me that afternoon. I explained to him some of the things I had been experiencing with throwing up and that awful stuck feeling with almost everything I placed into my mouth. I was advised due to the throwing up and pressure of things getting stuck my band was swollen and very irritated due to the forceful trauma I was putting it through. He took out .2ccs and immediately I was given relief! Every single person is different when it comes to their fills and the amount they are able to tolerate in their bands. I happen to be the type of person who’s not able to tolerate a lot of fluid in my band. I am 8 months post band and I only have a little less than 5 ccs in my band. I had my hernia repaired and in eight months I was free of zero signs of heartburn, but this week that weird feeling of heartburn has begun to linger in my upper chest area. That is very disappointing for me, and I feel like it's due to all the throwing up I experienced last week. My PA explained the acid from the throwing up cause’s damage in your esophagus which results in the feeling of heartburn. I honestly thought heartburn was apart of my life I would not have to experience never again. Thank God- I did not throw away all of my acid reflux medication. My symptoms are nothing like I had before, but it's just the fact I have any heartburn symptoms at all. I do thank God for things being as well as they are, but I just feel a little down hearted about the thought of experiencing heartburn in any way. So far so good- I have not had any more major throwing up episodes. So many people on the outside think having any type of weight lost surgery is the easy way out, but OMG they don’t have any idea of the many ups and down we all go through.
  7. Welsome to the site. How is everything going with you? Thanks for visiting my page.

  8. I hope you get some relief after your appointment this afternoon. When you are going through this unfortunate phase with your band, it's a very unpleasant thing to experience. I wish you the very best of luck.

    Help! Drainage!

Well, I was experiencing the same thing last week ,and I was throwing up a lot and I started experiencing heartburn. OMG- I knew something needed to be done so Monday morning I called and got a little removed. I can eat and drink again but my heartburn continues to linger with me. Please don't wait too long to get something done because you can cause damage to your band. You don't want that to happen!
  11. Thanks girl for the pic comment. My hips and thighs are the hardest two body parts to get under control. My upper body is so much smaller than my lower parts. I am still working it out at the YMCA and i pray it pay off!

Oooooooh sweet baby. Very nice picture.
  16. Thanks so much for adding me as a friend! How are you doing and have you been banded yet? If so how are things going, and if not do you have any idea when you will. How be ever, it's good to hear from you. Today will make my 8th month being band! I am 63 pounds and 40 more to go. Good luck to you honey.

  17. These are just some suggestions to help prepare you for your band. You should try to start eating smaller portions and don't drink and eat at the same time. Also, try to learn what a normal feeling of being full feels like without over eating. These are things you will have to learn once your are band so it's a good time to start now.

  18. It sounds like you are going through a lot of the same things I had to do. I also felt like the supervised diet was a total waste of my time, but later on I realized it's the head hunger that we have to gain control over. I now find myself having a lot of issues w the head hunger. Alot of terms you see people use on this site don't make sense until you experience some of these thing for yourself.

Lord have mercy on my soul

God will do just what you ask of him. He just want us to do our part to make the pieces all come together. This road is not easy but honestly, there is not one thing I would trade. I thank God every single day for giving me this opportunity to have my band. This is a very personal journey that only you alone can do with encouragement and support, but the rest is up to you. The tool has been put in place and it's up to you to use it to your advantage! You can do this. Like the nike logo "just do it"!
  20. Honey, this is a personal journey and every single person make their decisions for different reasons. Whatever you feel is best for your health conditions, emotional, and everything else in between is totally your choice to make.
